Wednesday is a four-game Division Series day in baseball and a three-game card in the NHL. First pitch is 4:00 PM ET in Chicago, 6:00 in Atlanta, 8:00 at Yankee Stadium and 10:00 in San Diego. The NHL follows with
Penguins at
Capitals and
Avalanche at
Jets at 7:30 PM ET, then
Oilers at
Ducks at 10:00.
Three of the four baseball series can end tonight, and the fourth can swing hard. The probable pitchers below come from the posted probable-pitcher lists and every series score is checked against the results. Win probabilities are model numbers, not betting lines, and we are not quoting prop prices because they move all day. Check the matchups, then shop the number on the MLB book heat map.
Where Every Series Stands
White Sox lead
Guardians 2-0 (ALDS). The White Sox won Game 1 3-0 and Game 2 4-3 in Cleveland: Game 1 and Game 2. Game 3 is tonight in Chicago, 4:00 PM ET.
Rays lead
Yankees 2-0 (ALDS). Tampa Bay won 1-0 and then 5-2 at home: Game 1 and Game 2. Game 3 is tonight at Yankee Stadium, 8:00 PM ET.
Dodgers lead
Braves 2-1 (NLDS). The Dodgers won Game 1 5-3, Atlanta took Game 2 3-2, and Los Angeles won Game 3 3-1 on Tuesday: Game 1, Game 2 and Game 3. Game 4 is tonight in Atlanta, 6:00 PM ET.
Brewers lead
Padres 2-1 (NLDS). Milwaukee won 3-2 and 4-3, then San Diego stayed alive with a 4-3 win Tuesday: Game 1, Game 2 and Game 3. Game 4 is tonight at Petco Park, 10:00 PM ET.
Guardians at White Sox, 4:00 PM ET (Game 3)
White Sox can close the series at home. Cleveland has to win three straight, and its first job tonight is simply getting through the afternoon. The posted probable starters are Daniel Espino (RHP, 0-0, 4.11 ERA, 25 strikeouts) for the Guardians and Sean Newcomb (LHP, 2-5, 3.09 ERA, 84 strikeouts) for the White Sox. Cleveland has kept its Game 3 plan flexible, so a bullpen-style game is possible and the final pitching plan is worth confirming. Our model gives Chicago 53.6 percent.
The Cleveland bats to watch are Steven Kwan and José Ramírez, and Chicago has now won both games in this series by three runs or fewer after taking Game 1 3-0. Pitching props are the way in here: Newcomb's outs and earned-runs markets, and Cleveland hitter totals once the lineup is posted. Check the MLB weather page before the first pitch, because afternoon baseball is where wind and sun field matter.
Dodgers at Braves, 6:00 PM ET (Game 4)
Dodgers can finish it. Tyler Glasnow (RHP, 5-2, 3.53 ERA, 98 strikeouts) starts for Los Angeles against Tyler Mahle (RHP, 7-10, 3.99 ERA, 137 strikeouts). Tuesday's game belonged to Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who went seven innings with one run allowed and 10 strikeouts, while Enrique Hernández and Freddie Freeman each homered in the fourth to beat Chris Sale (5 IP, 3 R, 7 K). Our model puts the Dodgers at 58.3 percent in Atlanta.
Atlanta has to win to force a Game 5, with home field helping. Ronald Acuña Jr., Ozzie Albies and Austin Riley are the Braves bats to build a tournament stack around, while Glasnow is the strikeout-ceiling arm. The angle some bettors like is Mahle's strikeout total against a contact-heavy lineup; confirm the number at the books before you decide it has value.
Rays at Yankees, 8:00 PM ET (Game 3)
The most uncomfortable game on the board for New York. The
Yankees are favorites at home in the model (60.1 percent), but they trail 2-0 and have scored two runs in the first two games of this series combined. Nick Martinez (RHP, 15-6, 3.10 ERA, 109 strikeouts) starts for Tampa Bay against Max Fried (LHP, 5-5, 2.80 ERA, 104 strikeouts).
Aaron Judge remains out of the lineup with a calf injury and was not on the ALDS roster, which is why Ben Rice carries so much of the Yankees' offense: he hit two solo home runs in Game 2 and nothing else around him worked. If you want Yankees exposure, individual hitters can be a better price than the moneyline in an elimination game. Tampa Bay's cheaper bats are the contrarian tournament play, and the MLB home run board will show you which Yankees hitters are on the board.
Brewers at Padres, 10:00 PM ET (Game 4)
San Diego has to win to force Game 5. Walker Buehler (RHP, 9-6, 4.63 ERA, 131 strikeouts) starts for the Padres, and the Brewers had not announced their starter at last check, so any pitching prop here waits for confirmation. Our model is nearly a coin flip, with San Diego at 50.8 percent.
Tuesday's win came down to Jake Cronenworth, whose solo home run in the fifth broke the tie, and Michael King, who closed the final two innings for a six-out save. Xander Bogaerts made the game-ending double play on Christian Yelich's line drive. One roster note matters for tonight: Padres closer Mason Miller went on the paternity list about 45 minutes before Game 3 and did not pitch, so his status for Game 4 is the biggest bullpen question on the board. Check the MLB player news wire and starting pitchers page before betting a late-inning market.
MLB Props, DFS and Parlays
Start with the MLB props board and the Hit Board for hit rates, then use the hot-tonight board and unders board to find what is actually hot. The MLB DFS Edge board grades salary against production, and the start/sit board sorts every startable arm and bat. For postseason slates, confirmed lineups and bullpen availability matter more than season-long numbers, so use the MLB projections and Lineup Shuffler as the final check.
Build a slip on the MLB Parlay Generator or hand-pick legs in the Parlay Builder, then grade it on the Parlay Doctor. For pick'em, the MLB Slip Builder ranks every prop by real win probability. Follow the games live on MLB Live and Game Zone.
The NHL Card
Tuesday's nine games are final, and two results stood out.
Rangers beat
Islanders 5-2 (box score) and
Hurricanes won 6-4 at Montreal (box score). The rest of the board: Toronto 5, Nashville 4, Utah 5, New Jersey 3, Detroit 5, Ottawa 3, Buffalo 3, Minnesota 2, Chicago 4, St. Louis 2, Vegas 6, Seattle 2 and Florida 2, Los Angeles 1.
The early-season caution holds for Wednesday: samples are tiny, and line combinations and goalie decisions create bigger pricing gaps than the standings do. Wait for confirmed goalies, then check the goaltending board and the NHL player news wire.
Penguins at
Capitals, 7:30 PM ET
The Capitals open at home against Pittsburgh, and the storylines write themselves: Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin meeting again, with Ovechkin having announced that 2026-27 will be his final NHL season. Pittsburgh enters after a 3-2 loss to Winnipeg on Monday (box score); our model gives Washington 58.9 percent. Check Bryan Rust's status and line placement before using him in DFS or props. The correlation play is Crosby, Ovechkin and power-play exposure, and the markets to look at are first-period lines, shots, anytime goals and power-play points.
Avalanche at
Jets, 7:30 PM ET
Colorado's ceiling is the story: the Avalanche beat St. Louis 6-1 on Saturday (box score) and carry the highest model win probability of the NHL card at 62.2 percent. Stack Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar, and watch MacKinnon's shots. Winnipeg is 2-0 in the standings after wins over Detroit and Pittsburgh, so the value side of the tournament board is the Jets if Colorado ownership gets heavy. Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele are the Winnipeg names to know, and Winnipeg goalie saves are worth checking if Colorado generates its usual volume.
Oilers at
Ducks, 10:00 PM ET
The highest pure star power of the three. Edmonton beat Seattle 3-1 on Saturday (box score), and the Ducks come in 2-0 after a 3-2 win over Florida (box score). Connor McDavid is the premium piece and his salary makes roster construction tight, so the better tournament build pairs one Edmonton star with a secondary Oilers piece. Leon Draisaitl points and power-play points are the prop markets to compare, and Anaheim's top line is the contrarian value if the field piles onto Edmonton. Our model has Edmonton at 54.7 percent.
The NHL toolbox for tonight: the NHL props board, NHL book heat map, NHL DFS Edge, start/sit board, hot tonight and shots leaderboard. Build slips on the NHL Parlay Generator, then check them on the Parlay Doctor.
The Bottom Line
Baseball:
White Sox,
Rays and
Dodgers are each one win from moving on, and
Padres is fighting to force a Game 5. The edge tonight is in the final pitching and bullpen news, not the morning number.
Hockey: three games, three different DFS environments. Colorado has the highest ceiling, Edmonton has the biggest stars, and Washington-Pittsburgh has the history.
Most important late news: the Brewers' starter, Mason Miller's availability, Cleveland's Game 3 pitching plan, Bryan Rust's status and the confirmed NHL goaltenders.
