1.
Sabres AT
Blue Jackets | 7:00 PM ET
Line: Blue Jackets -112 / Sabres -108. Total: 6.5.
Best bet: Sabres moneyline -115 or better. Tage Thompson and Rasmus Dahlin against a Columbus roster reshaped by the offseason trade that sent Kirill Marchenko to Toronto for Matthew Knies.
Goalie note: Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (lower-body) and Alex Lyon (upper-body) are both banged up. Confirm the starter before you lock anything. The goaltending leaderboard and the injury report will have the update.
2.
Lightning AT
Rangers | 7:00 PM ET, MSG
Line: Lightning -142.
Pick: Lightning moneyline -145 or better. Tampa went 50-26-6 last season with the 4th-best goals-per-game and 3rd-best goals-against. Kucherov had 130 points in 76 games last year, a 1.71 points-per-game pace ahead of McDavid's 1.68. The Rangers are coming off a shutout loss in Boston on opening night.
3.
Flyers AT
Devils | 7:00 PM ET
Line: Devils -162 / Flyers +136. Total: 5.5.
Pick: Devils moneyline -150 or better. Philadelphia is on the back half of a back-to-back after a 7-0 loss to Pittsburgh Wednesday. Jack Hughes, Nico Hischier and Jesper Bratt against a tired Flyers team that just got run off the ice.
4.
Wild AT
Predators | 8:00 PM ET, Bridgestone Arena, Nashville home opener
Line: Predators +120 / Wild -142. Total: 5.5.
Pick: Wild moneyline -150 or better. Kaprizov and Boldy give Minnesota the edge, but the Wild are missing Brock Faber, who had surgery for a fractured skull suffered in the preseason finale and has no return timetable, and Filip Gustavsson, out until November recovering from offseason hip surgery. Forsberg, O'Reilly and Saros in net can steal this one for Nashville.
5.
Kraken AT
Flames | 7:00 PM MT / 9:00 PM ET, Scotiabank Saddledome
Line: Flames -112 / Kraken -108. Total: 5.5.
Projected Flames lines: Gridin-Frost-Coronato, Honzek-Backlund-Farabee, Zary-Strome-Sharangovich, Bahl-Nemec, Dustin Wolf in net. Jonathan Huberdeau is out for Calgary.
Pick: Kraken moneyline -115 or better. Eberle, Beniers, Stephenson and Kakko give Seattle real forward depth.
6.
Blackhawks AT
Mammoth | 9:30 PM ET, Delta Center
Line: Mammoth -218 / Blackhawks +180. Total: 5.5.
Pick: Over 6 goals -110 or better. Chicago allowed 5 against Vegas in its opener, but Bedard creates offense regardless of the matchup. Utah can score in bunches, and laying -200 or worse on the Mammoth straight up is expensive for what you get.
7.
Panthers AT
Sharks | 10:00 PM ET, SAP Center
Line: Sharks +124 / Panthers -148. Total: 6.5.
Situational edge: Florida is off a 1-0 overtime win in Carolina on opening night, then a cross-country flight to San Jose. Celebrini leads the Sharks, but San Jose carries a long injury list.
Pick: Panthers moneyline -150 or better.
8.
Oilers AT
Canucks | 10:00 PM ET, Rogers Arena, rematch
Line: Canucks +170 / Oilers -205. Total: 6.5.
Tuesday's opener: Vancouver won 6-5 in overtime, 23 shots on 6 goals. Bouchard had 5 points for Edmonton in the loss, McDavid added 2 assists in 22:51 of ice time. Full box score
Pick: Over 6.5 at -125 or better. McDavid (138 points last season, a 30.6 percent power play) against a Vancouver team that allowed the most goals in the league a year ago (314, 3.83 per game) on a penalty kill that finished dead last at 71.5 percent. Demko remains out for Vancouver recovering from hip surgery, with Kevin Lankinen starting in his place.
PLAYER PROPS, TONIGHT
Connor McDavid, anytime goal (+105). The best prop on tonight's board. He didn't score Tuesday but had 2 assists in 22:51, and this is as good a bounce-back spot as exists against the league's worst defense.
Nikita Kucherov, over 1.5 points. Against a Rangers defense that got shut out on opening night. Kucherov scored 44 goals with 86 assists last season.
Kirill Kaprizov, anytime goal. Nashville's penalty kill is vulnerable, and Kaprizov plays the top line alongside Boldy.
Jack Hughes, over 3.5 shots on goal. Against a tired Flyers team on the second half of a back-to-back.
Macklin Celebrini, over 0.5 points. A young Sharks core at home against tired Panthers legs off a cross-country flight.
The hit-rate board and Splits show how often each of these names has actually cleared a number like this recently, not just a season average. Devig any of these before you bet them.
DFS VALUE, 8-GAME SLATE
Top stacks: McDavid-Draisaitl-Bouchard (first power-play unit, rematch shootout spot). Kucherov-Guentzel-Hagel against the Rangers, the best offense on the board tonight. Kaprizov-Boldy-Rossi.
Value plays: Matvei Gridin and Matt Coronato on Calgary's top line with Frost for the home opener. Samuel Honzek, second line, more opportunity with Huberdeau out. Tage Thompson, underpriced if Luukkonen starts, on a 50-win team a year ago. Connor Bedard, likely low-owned against a big Utah favorite but still shoots 5-plus times a game. Dustin Wolf in net, home goalie who can steal a close game against Seattle.
Goalies: Vasilevskiy against a struggling Rangers offense. Saros, a home underdog with real save volume against a Wild team missing a top defenseman.
Fade: don't pay up for the Oilers moneyline at -205 straight, use the total or a McDavid prop instead. And be careful with the Flyers coming off a 7-0 loss on the road half of a back-to-back.
DFS Edge and the lineup optimizer are built for exactly this kind of 8-game slate.
All lines will continue to move after final goalie confirmations, use the price thresholds above rather than chasing a worse number. If a favorite moves past -150, consider passing.
The odds converter and implied probability turn any of tonight's prices into a plain win rate, and line movement and the heat map show exactly how far a number has already moved since this afternoon.
Import your team, let the Roster Doctor grade what you own, and settle the close calls in Start or Sit or the start/sit board. Build a parlay off tonight's full card and grade it in the Parlay Doctor.
Every call we make is on the verdict slate, graded on the public ledger, with the calibration page tracking whether that confidence has meant anything.
