About the Kelly calculator
The Kelly criterion sizes a bet from your edge: stake the fraction (bp - q) / b of your bankroll, where b is the decimal odds minus one, p is your win probability and q is 1 - p. Enter the odds, your probability and your bankroll for the full Kelly stake and safer fractions of it. When your probability is no better than the odds imply, Kelly says to bet nothing.
Why do bettors use half Kelly?
Full Kelly swings hard when your probabilities are a little off; half Kelly keeps most of the growth with far smaller swings.
