Detroit is 3-0 and without Jalen Duren. The defending champion Knicks are 0-3. Plus Nets at Celtics, Kings at Spurs, and an unbeaten Lakers-Blazers nightcap.
NBA | Tuesday, October 27, 2026
The NBA season is heating up, and Tuesday brings four games worth watching for bettors, fantasy managers and DFS players. The defending champion Knicks host the unbeaten Pistons, Sacramento visits San Antonio, Brooklyn visits Boston, and the night closes with the Lakers and Blazers, two of the West's unbeaten teams.
Tonight's approach is simple: look past the moneyline. Matchups, pace, minutes, rebounding, injuries and usage matter as much as picking the winner. Player props and same-game parlays give you plenty of ways to build a card, and plenty of ways to turn a good-looking ticket into a donation. Current lines and props for every game are on the NBA hub and the NBA props page, and our calls are on the NBA verdicts page.

INJURY REPORT
- Pistons: C Jalen Duren is out with a right hamstring strain suffered against Miami and is expected to miss at least two weeks. Ugonna Onyenso is also out. Ausar Thompson (right ankle sprain) and Isaiah Joe (right hip contusion) are questionable.
- Knicks: Jose Alvarado (left ankle sprain) is out. No other Knicks are listed.
- Trail Blazers: Shaedon Sharpe is out. He tore his meniscus in August and was given a six-month timeline.
- Lakers: Adou Thiero (knee) is questionable.
Reports change all day, and NBA teams often make rest decisions late. Check the all-sports injury report and the NBA player news before you lock anything, and the NBA depth charts for who steps in.
NETS AT CELTICS, 7:30 P.M.
Box score: Nets-Celtics.
Boston comes in off a 134-99 win over Chicago last night (box score), so this is the second night of a back-to-back. Brooklyn is 0-3 after losing 136-109 at home to Indiana on Sunday (box score).
The angle: can Brooklyn keep it competitive? Boston wins with perimeter shooting, defensive rebounding and efficient half-court offense. Brooklyn's path is protecting the ball, getting out in transition and avoiding long droughts. The back-to-back matters: watch for Celtics rest decisions, which can change minutes for everyone in the rotation.
DFS: prioritize Boston's highest-usage starters who are confirmed to play, and Brooklyn players whose minutes are secure. Cheap guards only work if the role is real.
PISTONS AT KNICKS, 8:00 P.M.
Box score: Pistons-Knicks.
This is the headliner. Detroit is 3-0 after beating Philadelphia 106-93 on Sunday (box score). The defending champion Knicks are 0-3 after a 111-102 home loss to Orlando the same night (box score).
The angle: rebounding. With Duren out, Paul Reed is expected to take on a bigger role at center, and that puts Karl-Anthony Towns in a favorable spot on the glass. Detroit's path is attacking the paint behind Cade Cunningham and forcing turnovers. New York needs Jalen Brunson to get the offense organized and its wings, Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby, to defend the perimeter.
Props to research:
- Karl-Anthony Towns: rebounds and a double-double, with Duren out.
- Cade Cunningham: assists, especially if New York sends extra help.
- Jalen Brunson: points, but compare the number with his shot volume rather than his reputation.
- Josh Hart: rebounds and assists from the wing.
Check how often each player clears his number on the NBA prop hit rate board, and compare every prop on the NBA props page.
DFS: Towns and Cunningham are the anchors. If Ausar Thompson sits, Detroit's wing minutes open up; check the NBA depth charts after the final report.
KINGS AT SPURS, 8:00 P.M.
Box score: Kings-Spurs.
Sacramento is 0-3 after a 123-112 home loss to Memphis on Sunday (box score). San Antonio is 1-2 and last played Saturday, a 122-106 win in Dallas (box score), so the Spurs come in rested.
The angle: pace, perimeter defense and control of the paint. A faster pace creates possessions, but pace alone does not make an over. Shooting efficiency, turnovers and trips to the line decide it. Compare both teams on the NBA team offense and the NBA team defense.
Props to research: assists for the primary ball handlers if the defense allows penetration, rebounds for frontcourt players with stable minutes, and threes only for shooters whose attempts justify the risk. Leaders are on the assists leaders, rebounding leaders and three-point leaders pages.
TRAIL BLAZERS AT LAKERS, 11:00 P.M.
Box score: Blazers-Lakers.
Two unbeaten teams close the night. The Lakers are 3-0 after a 132-123 win in Utah on Sunday (box score). Portland is 2-0 after routing Phoenix 124-83 and winning 128-120 in Sacramento (box score), and it has done it without Shaedon Sharpe.
The angle: the late game is your last chance for DFS exposure, and late news matters most here. A late scratch can swing minutes and usage, and the managers who keep salary flexibility can react.
DFS: prioritize the Lakers' lead creator and primary scorers, and Portland's high-minute starters, including anyone whose role grows because a teammate is out. Track minutes on the minutes leaders.
PARLAYS: BUILD IT RIGHT
Every NBA ticket starts in the NBA Parlay Builder, which carries every NBA parlay type (points, threes, rebounds and assists) with our best picks factored into every build. If you would rather pick your own legs, the NBA Slip Builder and the cross-sport Parlay Builder price them with real odds. Mixing tonight's NBA with NHL or World Series Game 4? The AI Parlay Generator builds one slip across every league you light up.
Three ways to build:
- The two-leg same-game parlay: one thesis, two related legs, like a team result plus its primary playmaker's assists. Related legs are priced together, so check the payout.
- The cross-game parlay: a side from one game plus a prop from another. Every leg you add raises the payout and lowers the chance of cashing.
- The conservative card: one or two positions with a clear reason behind them, and a pass when the number no longer offers value.
Before you place anything, run it through the Parlay Doctor, which checks every leg and flags legs that depend on each other. The parlay calculator does the payout math, and the odds converter converts any price.
NBA TEASERS: WHY THEY ARE DIFFERENT
A teaser moves the spread or total in your favor for a smaller payout. In football, that works because margins pile up on 3 and 7. Basketball margins do not cluster around a few key numbers, so the points you buy in an NBA teaser are worth less. Check the adjusted line and the price in the teaser calculator before you build one; a teaser is not automatically safer. The NFL Teaser Generator is built for football, where the key numbers live.
DFS VALUE: WHAT TO LOOK FOR TONIGHT
- Premium plays: high-usage stars with secure minutes. Towns and Cunningham fit tonight.
- Mid-tier targets: players who score, rebound and pass, not just score.
- Salary savers: starters moved into bigger roles. Paul Reed in Detroit is the obvious candidate.
- Tournament pivots: lower-owned players with a real path to beating their salary.
- Avoid: anyone questionable, on a minutes limit, or whose role depends on someone else sitting.
Build lineups from real salaries in the DFS Lineup Generator, check your season-long roster in the Lineup Doctor, and compare value on the NBA DFS value page and the NBA start/sit board. Before lock, confirm starting lineups, minutes and scoring rules.
THE TUESDAY NIGHT WATCHLIST
- Nets-Celtics: Boston on a back-to-back. Watch the rest report.
- Pistons-Knicks: rebounding with Duren out, Towns and Cunningham props.
- Kings-Spurs: pace, assists and frontcourt rebounding.
- Blazers-Lakers: two unbeaten teams; late injury news and confirmed rotations before you build.
Don't confuse a pick with a profitable bet. The edge comes from finding a price better than the probability, not from adding legs. Our official calls are on the NBA verdicts page, every result is on the public results ledger, and the hottest players and teams are on the NBA hot list and the NBA team streaks.
