That's a three-game swing in a week, and with about thirteen to play it puts San Diego in the driver's seat rather than the passenger's.

The final fortnight is the best betting stretch of the season and the easiest to get wrong, because motivation stops being uniform. Clinched teams rest starters. Eliminated teams audition call-ups. The Guardians, Blue Jays, Rangers, Padres and Diamondbacks play every game like October.
Lineups first. Confirmed cards drop two hours before first pitch, and September is the month a contender rests a regular and a rebuilding club starts a rookie you've never priced. Batting second is worth roughly one extra plate appearance over batting seventh.
