What the calendar is built around

This is the first 84-game season under the new agreement — 1,344 games, up from 1,312 — and the league starts it early to fit them in: opening night is Tuesday, September 29, and the last day is Saturday, April 10, with sixteen games on each of the busiest nights. The only dark stretch is February 4 to 7.

For fantasy the two numbers are games per week and back-to-backs. The Kraken lead the league with eleven four-game weeks; the Sharks have ten. The Penguins play fifteen back-to-backs, the most in the league, the Flames eight, the fewest — which is where goalie streaming starts. Both tables are a tab away.
