Sunday brings a five-game NHL slate with plenty of opportunity for fantasy players and bettors. Carolina already blew out Winnipeg 7-0 this afternoon (box score), and Minnesota-Washington and Utah-Philadelphia are underway, which leaves two big games for tonight: Connor McDavid chasing a 15th straight game with a point at Madison Square Garden, and Ottawa visiting Anaheim on the second night of a back-to-back.
Follow every game live in the NHL Game Zone and the main Game Zone on the website, on Roku and on Amazon Fire TV.

THE AFTERNOON GAMES: LIVE NOW
Wild at Capitals. Two winning teams, Minnesota at 9-3-3 and Washington at 8-4-0, with Minnesota a short road favorite and a total of 6.5. The Wild are without defensemen Jared Spurgeon and Brock Faber and goalie Filip Gustavsson, all on injured reserve, plus Marcus and Nick Foligno. Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boldy are Minnesota's top shooters, and Alex Ovechkin is the Capitals' volume shooter. Our pick | Simulator | Box score
Mammoth at Flyers. Utah came in at 9-5 against a 3-8 Philadelphia team, and the Mammoth were the clear road favorite. Utah is without Kailer Yamamoto, John Marino and Maveric Lamoureux. Logan Cooley is the Mammoth's value center in DFS. Our pick | Simulator | Box score
Both games are in progress, so pregame props and prices on them are closed. Check the live numbers before betting either one.
OILERS AT RANGERS, 6:00 PM ET
Our pick on this game | Run it 10,000 times in the NHL Game Simulator | Live box score
Rangers -130 | Total 6.5 | Edmonton +1.5
This is the headline game of the night. Connor McDavid has a point in all 14 of Edmonton's games this season, with 8 goals and 29 assists for 37 points, 11 more than Leon Draisaitl. A point tonight makes it 15 straight. His best season-opening streak is 17 games, in 2021-22.
Draisaitl has 12 goals, nine of them in his last nine games. The Oilers are 6-0 on the road, outscoring opponents 31-13, and are on the second night of a back-to-back after a 4-0 win over the Islanders on Saturday.
The Rangers have lost three straight and allowed 18 goals in that stretch, and they are without both of their top goalies: Igor Shesterkin and Joonas Korpisalo are on injured reserve. Edmonton is without Zach Hyman and goalies Frederik Andersen and Devon Levi, all on injured reserve. Matt Tomkins is expected to start for the Oilers and Dylan Garand for the Rangers, but neither is confirmed. Check the NHL injury report before you lock anything.
Players to watch:
- Connor McDavid: over 2.5 shots, 1+ point, or 2+ points as the higher-risk option.
- Leon Draisaitl: over 3.5 shots, anytime goal as the higher-risk option, or 1+ point for a same-game parlay.
Betting angle: the Rangers are -130 at home, but they are on a skid, short on goaltending, and facing the league's highest-scoring team. Edmonton is the side the matchup favors, while fatigue is the counterweight. Our call on the side and total is on the NHL verdicts page.
SENATORS AT DUCKS, 8:00 PM ET
Our pick on this game | Run it 10,000 times in the NHL Game Simulator | Live box score
Ottawa -118 | Total 6.5
Ottawa (9-5-1) is on the second night of a back-to-back after a 5-1 win in San Jose on Saturday. The Senators are also without goalie Linus Ullmark, Andre Burakovsky, Warren Foegele and William Eklund, all on injured reserve. Anaheim (5-7-1) is without Troy Terry, Ian Moore and Ryan Poehling.
Players to watch: Drake Batherson for 1+ point, and Dylan Cozens as a way into the Ottawa offense at a lower price.
Betting angle: Ottawa is a short road favorite. Goaltending and fatigue deserve extra attention, so don't blindly chase the Senators off Saturday's result. Our call is on the NHL verdicts page.
NHL DFS: VALUE PLAYS
- Logan Cooley (UTA, C): salary flexibility with projected production.
- Drake Batherson (OTT, RW): upside, but mind the back-to-back.
- Dylan Cozens (OTT, C): salary relief and cheaper exposure to Ottawa.
Stacking strategy:
- Edmonton: McDavid and Draisaitl provide premium upside against a Rangers team without its top two goalies.
- Ottawa: Batherson and Cozens are options, but be mindful of the back-to-back.
Goalie selection is especially important on a small slate, and three of tonight's four teams are working without their usual starter. Confirm starters before committing salary. Build it in the DFS Lineup Generator and compare value on the NHL DFS value page.
PARLAY IDEAS FOR TONIGHT
Built only from the two games still to start. Check our pick before you play any leg.
PARLAY 1: EDMONTON OFFENSIVE CONNECTION
- Connor McDavid 1+ point
- Leon Draisaitl 1+ point
- Oilers-Rangers over 5.5 goals, if offered
A same-game build that relies on Edmonton's offense. The Rangers' defensive slide and goalie situation make it interesting, but the Oilers are on a back-to-back.
PARLAY 2: SHOT VOLUME
- Connor McDavid over 2.5 shots
- Leon Draisaitl over 3.5 shots
PARLAY 3: LONG-SHOT LOTTO
- Connor McDavid 2+ points
- Leon Draisaitl anytime goal
- Drake Batherson 1+ point
This is a high-risk combination, not a bankroll strategy. Keep the stake small. Build your own in the NHL Parlay Builder or the NHL Slip Builder, let the AI Parlay Generator build one for you, and check it in the Parlay Doctor. Compare every prop on the NHL props page and the NHL prop hit board.
THE FANTASYDAILIES FINAL WORD
McDavid is the headline tonight, chasing 15 straight with a point against a Rangers team down to its third goalie. Ottawa's back-to-back is the trap to respect, and Cooley, Batherson and Cozens are the DFS salary plays. See where everyone stands on the NHL standings and NHL power rankings, and talk about it in the FantasyDailies forum.
The biggest mistake tonight would be treating every favorite like a lock or stacking too many correlated legs. Check the goalies, check the line combinations, and don't chase a bad number just because a superstar's name is attached to it.
