Burgundy-and-gold fans, pull up a chair. 1st String Podcast has joined the FantasyDailies podcast network, and the show is now streaming on the FantasyDailies TV channel on Roku and Amazon Fire TV. The Commanders arguments, the guest interviews and the weekly picks can now play in the living room, not just in your earbuds.
The crew, the guests, the Commanders, and the numbers behind every take — live, then in your feed.
A show with a story behind it
1st String has been on the air since 2021, and its show page lists 80 episodes on file. Its roots are personal. Founder and host Toothpick grew up talking football with his father, and after his father passed away he built 1st String as a way to keep that connection alive. He is Washington through and through — Commanders, Wizards, Capitals, Nationals and the wider DMV sports scene — and prides himself on researching every topic before he takes a stand on it.
He does not do it alone. Lady J Antoinette, known on the show as Lady A, joined in Season 2 and brings a sports marketing and media degree plus a podcasting résumé going back to 2015; her job, by the show's own description, is keeping the conversation (and the crew) in line. Al, a former William & Mary running back, started as a guest and stayed as the Cowboys fan on a Commanders podcast, which guarantees debate. He also runs "Who's in Al's Foursome?", picking his top four NFL players each week. Ced, a host since Season 1, brings Georgia roots by way of Dallas-Fort Worth and a soft spot for the Bulldogs, Falcons, Braves and Hawks.
Three nights, three different shows
The week has a rhythm, and each live night has its own identity (all times Eastern):
- Tuesday, 8:30 PM — Guest Show. The night the crew brings someone new to the table.
- Thursday, 5:30 PM — Last Word 1st Word.
- Saturday, 8:30 PM — Prediction Show. The night the crew goes on record.
Fans who want to see 1st String side by side with every other live show on the network can check the network's weekly schedule.
From the archive to the TV
Five 1st String episodes are on the FantasyDailies TV channel so far, and they make a good sampler of what the show does:
- 1st String LIVE: Week 4 NFL Picks & Commanders London Preview! — a picks episode built around Washington's trip to London.
- 1st String LIVE: Doc Walker, Commanders & London Preview! — Doc Walker joins for Commanders and London talk.
- 1st String LIVE: Week 3 NFL Picks, Injuries, Lines & Weather — a full Week 3 card covering exactly what the title says.
- 1st String Podcast w/ Doc Walker — an earlier Doc Walker sit-down from the show's back catalog.
- SuperBowl1 — a Super Bowl episode from the vault.
On the show page, the newest streams stack up too, including Miss Kay & Andrew O, Week 8 Recap! and Week 7 Recap, Thursday Picks & Fantasy Talk! Saturday's Prediction Show crowd may also enjoy the FantasyDailies season simulator, which plays the year out so you can see where Washington might land.
Where to find the crew

The 1st String Podcast page on FantasyDailies is more than an episode list. Alongside the live room, the latest streams, the full searchable archive and the crew bios, it has a dedicated Commanders desk: Washington's next game with the house call, a button to simulate the game, the newest Commanders player news, and quick hops to the depth chart, injuries and props. In other words, the show's talking points and the data behind them sit on one page.
If the conversation sends you digging, these FantasyDailies pages pair naturally with it: the Commanders team page, the NFL depth charts, the injury report, NFL player props, the AI-powered NFL parlay generator and the pick'em game for testing your own Saturday-style predictions.
Off the site, 1st String is everywhere you listen: subscribe on YouTube, play it on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or YouTube Music, and follow along on X (@1st_String_Pod), Facebook and LinkedIn. Two of the hosts post on their own too: Toothpick (@Toothpick74) and Lady A (@LadyJAntoinette).
Between shows, there's reading too. The 2026 Fantasy Football Draft Guide and the Sports Betting Strategy Book are both on Amazon, with the full shelf on the FantasyDailies books page — and Velvet members read all five books free on the site. The AI parlay builder handles every league, not just the NFL, and burgundy-and-gold fans can browse the FantasyDailies shop for network gear.
