🏈 Welcome to 1st String Podcast: where sports, personalities, and plenty of opinions collide!
What started as a father-and-son tradition became something bigger.
Our host, Toothpick, created 1st String Podcast in honor of his dad. The two shared a love for their hometown team, the Washington Commanders (formerly the Washington Redskins), and countless conversations about sports. After losing his father, Toothpick turned that passion, and that connection, into a podcast where the sports talk could keep going.
Then came the crew. And, well… things got interesting. 😂
🐶 Ced: Our Georgia representative who apparently believes sports outside the Peach State don't exist. Give him the Falcons, Bulldogs, Hawks, or Braves, and he's ready to go. Expect stats, intense Bulldog energy, and, every now and then, a loc'd wig.
🏈 Lady Antoinette (Lady A): The DC sports loyalist bringing order to the chaos. With her HR background, stern looks, and those unmistakable glasses, Lady A keeps everybody, and occasionally the conversation, in check.
⭐ Alvin (Al): Our resident Dallas Cowboys fan who somehow grew up in the Washington, DC area and still managed to confuse DC with Dallas Cowboys. Al brings the opposing perspective, plenty of Cowboys energy, and a mean backswing on the golf course.
Together, we're 1st String, a sports conversation built on fandom, friendship, debate, laughter, and the occasional argument that absolutely did NOT need to get that serious. 😆
From the Commanders and the NFL to college sports, the NBA, MLB, fantasy football, sports culture, and everything in between, we bring you the conversations fans are already having, with a little more personality.
