Minshew threw three touchdown passes, including the 13-yarder to Michael Wilson with 10 seconds left that tied it. Chad Ryland missed the extra point that would have won it in regulation, then hit a 42-yard field goal in overtime.

• Gardner Minshew II: 17 of 23, 188 yards and 3 touchdowns after entering the game.
• Tyler Allgeier: 147 rushing yards, 44 receiving yards and 2 total touchdowns, including a 63-yard run.

BENGALS 43, TITANS 36 (OT)

Joe Burrow and Tee Higgins put on a show in arguably the most entertaining game of the afternoon. Tennessee came out swinging, led 13-0 after one quarter and still led 36-29 with 3:52 left. Cam Ward was sharp all day, and Tony Pollard kept finding running room.

But Joe Burrow wasn't going to let this one slip away. He hit Tee Higgins for the tying touchdown with 1:21 to play and won it by scrambling 9 yards in overtime. He also threw three interceptions, all to Amani Hooker, making this an unusually wild statistical afternoon.

BILLS 36, RAVENS 10

Baltimore's season takes another devastating turn. Lamar Jackson hurt his right thumb on Baltimore's opening play in his first game back from an ankle injury. He needs surgery and is headed to injured reserve. Backup Tyler Huntley left with a toe injury, and undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano finished the game (10 of 21, 91 yards, one interception).

Buffalo took full advantage. Josh Allen led a convincing win, and the defense held Baltimore to 144 total yards and forced three turnovers.

Derrick Henry (11 carries, 53 yards, a touchdown) faces stacked boxes. Allen remains an elite option, and Buffalo's defense deserves serious consideration going forward. The Ravens host Jacksonville on Thursday night.

BUCCANEERS 16, FALCONS 0

The strangest win of the season? Tampa Bay won without completing a single pass. Read that again. Baker Mayfield went 0 for 3, and the Buccaneers still dominated Atlanta in terrible weather, running for a team-record 324 yards and intercepting Michael Penix Jr. four times: twice by Alex Anzalone, once each by Zyon McCollum and Jacob Parrish.

Minnesota finally loses. The Vikings came in 6-0 and left Detroit 6-1. Detroit's defense made life difficult for Kyler Murray, Jahmyr Gibbs carried the offense, and Jameson Williams caught the decisive 7-yard touchdown from Jared Goff with 4:40 left.

Sunday was a reminder of why the NFL is the most unpredictable show in sports: two overtime thrillers, a quarterback switch in Arizona, a season-changing injury in Baltimore, an unbeaten team's first loss, 324 rushing yards in Tampa Bay, and a Jets team that scored 33 and still lost.

This is the headline game of the night. Connor McDavid has a point in all 14 of Edmonton's games this season, with 8 goals and 29 assists for 37 points, 11 more than Leon Draisaitl. A point tonight makes it 15 straight. His best season-opening streak is 17 games, in 2021-22.

Andrew Nembhard has taken on an expanded playmaking role, while Pascal Siakam remains Indiana's top offensive option.

Brooklyn is 0-5 and has its own injuries: Egor Demin (leg) and Tyler Bilodeau (shoulder) are out, and Mikel Brown Jr. is resting. But Michael Porter Jr. and Julius Randle give the Nets weapons capable of keeping this competitive.

GAME 3: CLIPPERS AT WARRIORS

This could be the most interesting matchup of the night from a DFS perspective. Golden State is without Stephen Curry and Draymond Green (both resting), Kristaps Porzingis (illness), Moses Moody (knee) and Jimmy Butler III, and Gui Santos is day-to-day. That's an enormous amount of production missing.

The Clippers have their own problems, with Brandon Ingram, Bradley Beal (knee), Max Strus (foot) and Jordan Miller (shoulder) all out, and they lost 127-101 in Minnesota on Friday (box score). But Darius Garland gives them a capable facilitator, and Rui Hachimura is a scoring option.

Players to watch:

• Darius Garland: points and assists.
• Brandin Podziemski: increased offensive responsibility.
• Yaxel Lendeborg: scoring and rebounding.
• De'Anthony Melton: potential DFS value.
• Rui Hachimura: scoring opportunity for the Clippers.

DFS value: Podziemski is the name to investigate with Curry out. Garland can contribute in both scoring and assists, and Lendeborg is worth a look if his projected minutes hold.

GAME 4: RAPTORS AT LAKERS

The Lakers return home looking to rebound from a 112-95 loss at Golden State on Friday (box score). Luka Doncic remains one of the most important fantasy players on the board, and his ability to contribute points, rebounds and assists makes him a valuable DFS option in any matchup. Adou Thiero (knee) is out for the Lakers, and Ziaire Williams (foot) is day-to-day.

Toronto is without Kawhi Leonard (knee) and Nate Bittle (foot), which takes away an important defensive presence.

Players to watch:

• Luka Doncic: points, rebounds and assists.
• Austin Reaves: scoring and playmaking.
• Walker Kessler: rebounding and interior production.
• Scottie Barnes: multi-category production.
• RJ Barrett: points and rebounds.

DFS value: Doncic is one of the highest-priority plays on the slate, and Reaves is another attractive option. For Toronto, Barnes offers a strong all-around profile, and Barrett and Quickley are worth considering.

Two overtime finishes, a quarterback injury on the opening play, a shocking Arizona victory, a Cincinnati shootout and a Tampa Bay performance that practically rewrote the definition of winning without an offense.

Sunday's early window delivered everything fantasy football managers, DFS players and sports bettors could ask for, and a few things nobody had on their bingo card. THE HEADLINER: CARDINALS 33, COWBOYS 30 (OT)

Arizona walked into Dallas and walked out with one of the biggest wins of the afternoon. The Cardinals stunned the Cowboys 33-30 in overtime, turning a game that looked like it belonged to Dallas into an absolute thriller. Dallas entered as a significant favorite, but Arizona delivered the outright upset.

The biggest storyline was Arizona's quarterback situation and its willingness to change course. With the Cowboys up 17-3 in the third quarter and the Cardinals 0-for-2 in the red zone, Arizona benched Jacoby Brissett (10 of 23, 119 yards, one interception) for Gardner Minshew II. Two plays later, Tyler Allgeier ripped off a 63-yard touchdown run, and on the next drive Minshew found Allgeier for a 5-yard score.

Dallas still led 27-17 with under four minutes left. Minshew hit Trey McBride for a 14-yard touchdown with 2:16 to go, Brandon Aubrey answered with a 41-yard field goal, and Minshew found Michael Wilson from 13 yards out with 10 seconds left to tie it. Chad Ryland missed the extra point that would have won it in regulation, then made up for it with a 42-yard field goal in overtime. Dak Prescott ran for a touchdown and threw one to Ryan Flournoy for Dallas, but Arizona out-gained the Cowboys 467 yards to 261.

Betting impact:

• Cardinals moneyline: cashed.
• Cardinals plus the points: cashed.
• Cowboys on the spread: missed.
• Over: cashed, with 63 combined points, above every total posted this week.

For DFS players, this was the kind of game where overtime can turn an ordinary fantasy performance into a tournament-winning score. Every extra possession matters, particularly for quarterbacks, receivers and kickers.

BENGALS 43, TITANS 36 (OT)

Cincinnati and Tennessee gave us the other overtime spectacle. The Bengals survived a 43-36 shootout against a Titans team that refused to go away, and Tennessee actually controlled it for long stretches.

The Titans led 13-0 after the first quarter behind a 40-yard touchdown run from Tony Pollard, and led 36-29 with 3:52 left after Cam Ward hit Wan'Dale Robinson for a 15-yard touchdown and Gunnar Helm for the two-point try. Joe Burrow answered with an 18-yard touchdown to Tee Higgins with 1:21 to play, and won it in overtime by scrambling 9 yards for the touchdown himself. Ja'Marr Chase also scored for Cincinnati.

The Bengals threw for 462 yards and five touchdowns, but also three interceptions, and still won despite four turnovers.

Betting impact:

• Bengals moneyline: cashed.
• Titans plus the points: cashed as a double-digit underdog.
• Bengals on the spread: missed.
• Over: cashed, with 79 combined points, more than 30 over the posted total.

That's a massive difference between the projected total and what actually happened. A game producing 79 points is exactly the type of environment DFS players look for when identifying high-ceiling matchups. Tennessee deserves credit for making Cincinnati work for every inch, but the Bengals ultimately escaped.

THE RAVENS' NIGHTMARE: BILLS 36, RAVENS 10

This might have been the most alarming storyline of the entire early slate. Lamar Jackson's return lasted one play. He injured the thumb on his throwing hand and was ruled out before the end of the first quarter.

Then things got worse. Backup Tyler Huntley suffered a toe injury early in the second quarter and was also forced out. Baltimore turned to undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano, out of UConn, who had never taken an NFL snap. Three quarterbacks in one afternoon is a nightmare for any coaching staff and every fantasy manager who started Jackson.

Buffalo took full advantage. He ran for a touchdown and threw touchdowns to DJ Moore and Dalton Kincaid, James Cook ran for another, and Buffalo held Baltimore to 144 total yards. Derrick Henry scored the Ravens' only touchdown.

Fantasy impact: Derrick Henry's workload and Baltimore's offensive outlook are now major question marks, and the Ravens play again Thursday night against Jacksonville. Track Jackson's thumb on our NFL injury report and player news wire.

THE UNBELIEVABLE: BUCCANEERS 16, FALCONS 0

You read that correctly. Tampa Bay shut out Atlanta 16-0 despite Baker Mayfield completing zero passes. He went 0 for 3 in a driving rain, and Tampa Bay became the first team since the 1974 Bills to win without a single passing yard.

How do you win an NFL game like that? You run the football down the opponent's throat. Bucky Irving (27 carries, 170 yards, a touchdown) and Kenny Gainwell (25 carries, 140 yards) combined for 52 carries and 310 yards, and Tampa Bay set a team record with 324 rushing yards. The defense picked off Michael Penix Jr. four times, two by Alex Anzalone. Bijan Robinson ran for 76 yards.

DFS takeaway: Irving and Gainwell were the fantasy winners. That kind of backfield day separates a winning DFS lineup from the field. For Atlanta, being shut out while surrendering that much rushing raises serious questions on both sides of the ball.

Betting takeaway: Tampa Bay covered as a small favorite, and the under hit comfortably with just 16 combined points.

OTHER EARLY RESULTS: WINNERS, LOSERS AND SURPRISES

JAGUARS 42, COLTS 7

Jacksonville demolished Indianapolis and led 28-0 at the half. Trevor Lawrence threw touchdowns to Brian Thomas Jr., Nate Boerkircher and Bhayshul Tuten, who also ran one in from 39 yards. Rayuan Lane returned a Daniel Jones interception 92 yards for a touchdown, and Chris Rodriguez Jr. added a 28-yard touchdown run.

DFS takeaway: Jacksonville's defense and Tuten were the plays in a matchup that turned into a blowout.

STEELERS 27, BROWNS 6

Pittsburgh handled its division rival and took sole possession of first place in the AFC North at 6-2. Aaron Rodgers connected with Darnell Washington on a 58-yard play to the goal line, and Jaylen Warren scored from there. Warren ran for 143 yards on 17 carries, and Rico Dowdle and Pat Freiermuth also had rushing touchdowns.

The Steelers defense sacked Deshaun Watson eight times, two by T.J. Watt, and held Cleveland to 34 rushing yards and two field goals.

DFS takeaway: Pittsburgh's defense and Warren were strong fantasy plays. Cleveland's offense was a disappointing investment.

LIONS 19, VIKINGS 15

Minnesota entered unbeaten, but Detroit handed the Vikings their first loss. Kyler Murray threw touchdowns to Justin Jefferson and T.J. Hockenson, and a two-point conversion to Jordan Addison put Minnesota up 15-12 in the fourth quarter. The defensive battle came down to a Jared Goff-to-Jameson Williams 7-yard touchdown with 4:40 left. Jahmyr Gibbs added a 30-yard touchdown run, and Detroit ran for 230 yards.

DFS takeaway: not every slate produces fireworks. Defensive matchups can suppress otherwise attractive fantasy options.

RAIDERS 38, JETS 33

Another painful Sunday for Jets fans. New York led 23-14 at the half and 30-21 in the third quarter, but Las Vegas outscored the Jets 17-3 the rest of the way to snap a four-game skid. Kirk Cousins threw for 247 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another, Brock Bowers caught seven passes for 92 yards and two scores, Dylan Laube returned a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown, and Matt Gay won it with a 53-yard field goal in the final minute.

THE GAME SIMULATORS: NFL, NBA AND NHL

The headline feature. Pick any game on the board and the NFL Game Simulator, the NBA Game Simulator or the NHL Game Simulator plays it out 10,000 times and hands you a projected final score and a win probability for both sides.

Then it shows you one way that final could happen. Football plays out snap by snap, basketball possession by possession and hockey shift by shift, with the win probability moving across the top of the screen as the score and the clock change.

A few things to know before you run one:

• The final score comes from our own board: the total and the spread, plus the scoring shape measured from our own completed games. That is the number that carries information.
• The play-by-play around that score is one way the game could have gone. It is not a forecast of any single play or any player's stat line.
• It assumes fully healthy rosters. Everybody is available, nobody is hurt, and there is no weather or travel in the model. Check the injury report, the NBA starting lineups and the NHL box scores before you lock anything in.
• If the simulation and our locked pick disagree, the pick is the house position. Our picks live on the NFL verdicts page, NBA verdicts page and NHL verdicts page.
• A game without a total or a spread on our board is not simulated. The page tells you so and sends you to the box score instead.
• Everyone gets two simulations a day, and reopening a game you already ran does not count against you. Members get unlimited runs.

The fantasy football trade market is heating up. Which players should you buy, sell, stash or avoid before the November 10 deadline?

The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, November 10, and this year's market is already busy. Several major names have changed teams, and there is plenty of speculation about who falls next.

For fantasy football managers, dynasty owners and DFS players, this is more than transaction news. A change of scenery can transform a player's fantasy value overnight.

A backup can become a starter. A talented receiver buried on a crowded depth chart can become a team's No. 1 target. A running back splitting carries can land in a featured role.

And sometimes the opposite happens: a weekly fantasy starter loses touches when a new teammate arrives. Run any deal through our AI trade analyzer to see who wins it.

THE BIGGEST FANTASY FOOTBALL TRADE CANDIDATES

1. BRIAN THOMAS JR., WR, JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

Fantasy recommendation: BUY LOW / DYNASTY STASH

Thomas is one of the most intriguing offensive trade candidates in the league.

He posted 1,282 receiving yards and made the Pro Bowl as a rookie, but he has lost his WR1 role in Jacksonville to drops and inconsistent production. Through six games he has nine catches for 105 yards and a touchdown.

A trade could be exactly what his fantasy career needs. Kansas City, Pittsburgh, San Francisco and the Los Angeles Rams have all been mentioned as fits.

Fantasy impact: Thomas could become an attractive WR2 or flex option in the right offense. Dynasty managers should be interested while his value is depressed.

2. JONATHAN TAYLOR, RB, INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

Fantasy recommendation: BUY / HOLD

Taylor is the biggest running back name in deadline talk.

Indianapolis has fired general manager Chris Ballard and already traded Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner, which is why Taylor's name keeps coming up. On the field he is still elite: he is tied for the league lead with eight rushing touchdowns and ranks fifth with 587 rushing yards.

Minnesota, Denver, Seattle, Green Bay and the Giants have been floated as landing spots, but the Colts' owner reportedly doesn't want to trade him, so staying put remains the likeliest outcome.

Fantasy impact: Taylor is already a high-end RB1. A trade could raise his touchdown ceiling or bring a short adjustment period. Don't sell him cheaply because of rumors.

3. STEFON DIGGS, WR, WASHINGTON COMMANDERS

Fantasy recommendation: MONITOR / SELL HIGH IF UNCERTAIN

Diggs is the veteran receiver to watch.

Washington is 1-4-1, and Diggs is on a one-year deal. He has produced, with 24 catches for 214 yards and four touchdowns in five games, but he turns 33 in late November, which limits what a contender would pay. Kansas City has been named as the best fit.

Fantasy impact: His value depends on where he lands and who is throwing to him. Watch the target competition before you make a move.

4. TONY POLLARD, RB, TENNESSEE TITANS

Fantasy recommendation: BUY LOW / HANDCUFF WATCH

Pollard is a change-of-scenery candidate on a Tennessee team that just traded Jeffery Simmons to Chicago.

A move to a team that needs running back depth could change his workload and scoring chances.

Fantasy impact: Pollard is a speculative buy, not an automatic starter. His value depends on whether he becomes a featured back or keeps sharing carries.

5. KIRK COUSINS, QB, LAS VEGAS RAIDERS

Fantasy recommendation: MONITOR / SUPERFLEX WATCH

Quarterback movement ripples through fantasy football, and Cousins is playing well enough to draw interest: he leads the league in touchdown passes and ranks third in passing yards.

Philadelphia, Minnesota and Carolina have been mentioned as fits. A low base salary makes a deal easier, but the acquiring team's quarterback situation makes it complicated.

Fantasy impact: Superflex and two-quarterback managers should watch closely. A move would affect Cousins and every pass catcher around him, including Brock Bowers.

6. JERRY JEUDY, WR, CLEVELAND BROWNS

Fantasy recommendation: BUY LOW

Jeudy has the talent to be a productive fantasy receiver, and a new offense could help him. His name is on the list of candidates as Denzel Boston takes on a bigger role in Cleveland's receiver room.

Fantasy impact: Jeudy could become an interesting WR3 or flex option if he lands in a more consistent passing attack with a defined role.

7. WILL McDONALD IV, EDGE, NEW YORK JETS

Fantasy recommendation: IDP STASH

McDonald is an interesting defensive trade candidate. He has 23.5 career sacks and four forced fumbles in 54 games, but his snaps have dropped since the Jets drafted David Bailey No. 2 overall.

Cleveland, San Francisco and Cincinnati have been mentioned as landing spots.

Fantasy impact: In IDP leagues, a new team could change his snap count and sack chances. DFS players should also watch any pass-rush move that affects opposing quarterbacks.

8. DALLAS GOEDERT, TE, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Fantasy recommendation: HOLD / CONTINGENCY STASH

Goedert is a longer-shot candidate, but tight end movement can create big fantasy opportunities. Philadelphia has already moved Cam Jurgens.

A trade could give him a larger role elsewhere, and the Eagles would have to redistribute his targets.

Fantasy impact: Don't make a major roster decision on speculation alone. His destination and replacement plan will decide the winners and losers.

THE DFS DOMINO EFFECT: WHO BENEFITS WHEN A TRADE HAPPENS?

The biggest mistake DFS players make around the deadline is focusing only on the player being traded. The real value often belongs to the player left behind.

• Brian Thomas Jr. leaves Jacksonville: Travis Hunter and Parker Washington could pick up more targets.
• Jonathan Taylor leaves Indianapolis: the remaining Colts backs become immediate waiver and DFS targets.
• Stefon Diggs leaves Washington: the remaining Commanders receivers could see more looks from Jayden Daniels.
• Tony Pollard leaves Tennessee: the next back on the depth chart becomes a waiver priority.
• Dallas Goedert leaves Philadelphia: the Eagles' remaining tight ends and underneath receivers could see more volume.

These are scenarios, not confirmed workload changes. Wait for updated depth charts and coaching comments before locking in projections, and check the NFL injury report and NFL player news.

Buy low: Brian Thomas Jr., Jerry Jeudy, Tony Pollard

Speculative stash: Will McDonald IV (IDP) and the backup running backs behind potential trade candidates

Don't overpay: a potential trade is not a guaranteed upgrade. A receiver moving from a bad offense to a crowded passing attack might lose opportunities. A running back joining a contender might still land in a committee. The key is opportunity, not a new uniform.

Across from him is Australia's Tom Nolan (11-1), a fellow ranked lightweight riding a five-fight winning streak that includes a win over Fares Ziam. This is Nolan's first UFC headliner.

Boston is the biggest favorite on tonight's board. The Celtics have a substantial talent advantage, but a big expected margin brings fourth-quarter blowout risk.

• Boston: Jayson Tatum, Derrick White and Paul George.

Denver comes in favored and off a 104-91 win in New Orleans (box score), where Nikola Jokic recorded his 200th career triple-double. This matchup has excellent fantasy potential, particularly in the frontcourt.

• Denver: Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon.
• Phoenix: Devin Booker, Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks.

DFS targets: Jokic is the premium play. Booker and Murray are strong alternatives.

• Murray assists.

Cameron Johnson is questionable with an ankle sprain. If he sits, Denver's rotation and available minutes shift.

The fantasy football season is entering the stretch where every lineup decision matters. Whether you're fighting for a playoff spot, protecting a first-place position or trying to climb the standings, this is not the week to leave points sitting on your bench.

Week 8 Sunday brings 11 afternoon games, Eagles at Commanders on Sunday Night Football and Bears at Seahawks on Monday Night Football. Houston, New Orleans, the Giants and San Francisco are on bye, and Green Bay and Carolina already played Thursday (Packers 27, Panthers 19). The goal is simple: maximize touches, target volume, red-zone opportunities and favorable defensive matchups. Don't chase last week's fantasy points. Chase this week's opportunity.

QUARTERBACKS: START 'EM

Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills vs. Baltimore Ravens

Allen remains an elite fantasy option because of his dual-threat ability. His rushing production gives him a higher floor than most quarterbacks, and he generates touchdowns in multiple ways. He ranks among the league's red zone touchdown leaders (NFL red zone leaders).

Drake Maye, New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins

Maye deserves serious consideration. His passing upside and ability to extend plays make him an attractive fantasy option, and with A.J. Brown now in New England, he has a true No. 1 receiver to stack with.

Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals vs. Tennessee Titans

Burrow is a strong tournament play. Cincinnati put 35 on Baltimore last week (box score), and when the passing game gets rolling, his ceiling is enormous. Pairing him with one of his primary receivers is an interesting DFS strategy.

Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys vs. Arizona Cardinals

Prescott is another quarterback worth targeting. Dallas scored 38 in Philadelphia on Monday night (box score) and has the offensive personnel to create multiple scoring opportunities.

Quarterbacks: sit 'em / proceed with caution

• Veteran pocket passers without mobility: don't automatically trust a recognizable name when the matchup isn't there.
• Low-volume backup quarterbacks: avoid chasing a cheap DFS salary without a reliable passing workload.
• Quarterbacks facing elite pass defenses: don't confuse a big name with a favorable fantasy matchup. Check the defense vs. quarterbacks board.

DFS strategy: Allen offers a premium ceiling, while Maye and Burrow deserve consideration when building tournament lineups.

RUNNING BACKS: START 'EM

Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

An every-week fantasy centerpiece. Robinson's combination of rushing, receiving and explosive-play potential makes him one of the strongest options on the board. He should be a priority in both cash games and tournaments.

Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts at Jacksonville Jaguars

Taylor brings touchdown upside and the ability to dominate a game on the ground. He's an attractive option when Indianapolis can establish its rushing attack.

Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings

Gibbs is particularly valuable in PPR formats because of his receiving involvement, and he leads the league in red zone touchdowns. His speed creates big-play potential every time he touches the football.

Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders (Sunday night)

Barkley is difficult to leave out of a starting lineup. His workload and touchdown potential make him a high-priority option, and he headlines the Sunday night showdown slate.

Javonte Williams, Dallas Cowboys vs. Arizona Cardinals

Williams leads the league in goal-line carries (NFL goal-line leaders) and is tied for second in red zone touchdowns. In a game Dallas is expected to control, that touchdown equity is hard to ignore.

Running backs: sleeper plays

• Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Atlanta Falcons: worth monitoring for rushing and receiving opportunities after Tampa Bay's 43-point outburst in Carolina.
• Chase Brown, Cincinnati Bengals vs. Tennessee Titans: an interesting option if Cincinnati controls the game script.
• Kenneth Walker III, Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos: the league's rushing leader (NFL rushing leaders) brings big-play potential as a tournament option.

Running backs: sit 'em / caution

• Running backs in uncertain committees: avoid paying starter prices for players who may only receive half the workload.

Lamb is a premium receiving option and one of the league's red zone target leaders. His ability to generate receptions, yards after the catch and touchdowns makes him an excellent PPR selection.

Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions

Jefferson is an every-week starter. Even in difficult matchups, his individual talent and target potential keep him in the fantasy conversation.

Drake London, Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

London offers a combination of volume and touchdown upside. This is an attractive matchup to explore when constructing DFS lineups.

A.J. Brown, New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins

Brown is a strong ceiling play in his new home. His ability to turn a limited number of opportunities into a major fantasy performance makes him a natural stack with Maye.

Wide receiver sleepers

• Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals: a strong secondary option alongside Chase.
• Brian Thomas Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars: an explosive receiving option with big-play potential at home against Indianapolis.
• Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle Seahawks: a red zone target leader and a Monday night showdown centerpiece against Chicago.
• Denzel Boston, Cleveland Browns: the league's receiving leader (NFL receiving leaders) at Pittsburgh.

Wide receivers: sit 'em / caution

• Receivers with inconsistent target volume.

Bowers is a difference-maker at a position where reliable production is difficult to find. His receiving ability gives him a strong PPR ceiling.

Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings

LaPorta is a top red zone target in a divisional matchup that could create opportunities for Detroit's passing attack.

Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos

Kelce remains relevant when his involvement in the passing game is consistent. Consider him based on salary and expected target volume.

Tight end sleepers

• Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles: a viable option with touchdown potential on Sunday night.
• T.J. Hockenson, Minnesota Vikings: worth considering for reception volume at Detroit.
• Evan Engram, Denver Broncos: an interesting lower-cost alternative against Kansas City if his involvement is there.

Tight ends: sit 'em / caution

Three professional leagues, a full night of competition, major individual performances and plenty of storylines. Thursday delivered another action-packed night for sports fans, with the Green Bay Packers protecting home field, the Memphis Grizzlies continuing their undefeated start, and the NHL providing 11 games' worth of hockey.

From Lambeau Field to the NBA hardwood and across the NHL, there was no shortage of action.

NFL: PACKERS SURVIVE CAROLINA'S LATE PUSH

Green Bay Packers 27, Carolina Panthers 19 (Panthers-Packers box score)

Thursday Night Football belonged to Green Bay, but the Packers made things more interesting than necessary.

Jordan Love threw three touchdown passes, Josh Jacobs scored twice, and the Packers improved to 5-3 with a 27-19 victory over the Carolina Panthers at Lambeau Field.

Green Bay appeared to have the game comfortably under control after building a 27-10 advantage in the third quarter. Carolina refused to go quietly, however, cutting the deficit to eight points on a Bryce Young touchdown pass to Jalen Coker with 5:45 remaining.

The Panthers attempted a two-point conversion but failed to convert.

As week 8 approaches, we are getting more and more invested in the

season. Playoffs are right around the corner, and the trade deadline is

only a few weeks away (November 10th). There are a few players, I feel

if traded to the right team could make a serious impact in fantasy

leagues for the 2nd half of the season. These are a few players that

have been reported as possible trade candidates that I feel with the

right team, could flourish in fantasy, and move up in the fantasy

rankings.

~Josh Downs WR Ind (WR40rnk)

Downs is one of the most efficient slot route runners in the league. He

is on the final year of his rookie contract. Since Indy has fired their

GM, the Colts will definitely be looking start fresh and establish some

drafts picks. Downs is a target monster in the slots! His quickness

and crisp route running makes him a dangerous 1-on-1 match up, and

a QBs dream asset. Right now, Josh is ranked a mid-tier WR3 or Flex

options in most fantasy formats (ppr, non ppr, half ppr). Put him on a

balance offense team, and look to see his rankings skyrocket! These

team would be a perfect fit for Downs:

Kansas City Chiefs (Avg. Fantasy WR Rnk 64.83)

This would be a homerun on both ends!! Kansas City needs a

consistent receiver! Most of the receiving group is nursing injuries or

out for some time or the whole season. Downs would give the Chiefs

the balance attack that they have been looking for. Kenneth Walker is

already making the ground impact for the team. But after seeing

Seattle put a stop on the ground game, Mahomes needs a consistent

receiver in his group that will provide him great rhythm for short to

medium pass which can open up the deep ball for his speed receivers

like Worthy. This could also revive Kelce for those redzone and 3rd and

short plays as well.

Los Angeles Chargers (Avg WR Rnk 64)

Like the Chiefs, the Chargers receiving is unknown and lacking as a

receiving threat. Ladd McConkey (WR28) is recovering from a

concussion and the rest of the receiving group (Tre’ Harris WR65,

Quentin Johnston WR55) has not been much of an aerial threat.

Downs mid 1-on-1 threat does give Herbert that chance to

consistently move the ball down the field. Now even though

McConkey plays the same position, this would give OC Mike McDaniel

some ideas to use both McConkey and Downs to move up the field

and as well as expand the running game with Hampton and Vidal.

Washington Commanders (Avg WR Rnk 89)

With McLaurin out for the season, the Commanders definitely

could use a reliable receiver. Downs give Jayden that reliable

weapon he needs to save the season. With potential deep ball

playmakers Dyami Brown, Treylon Burk, and with Stefon Diggs

being the lead receiver, Down gives Jayden the mid field

target and early rhythm to move up the field. Once Terry is

health for next season, he would be that number receiver he

has always wanted.

Another Colt piece that could be a part of the Colts fire sale.

Taylor would be an extremely valuable piece to a contending

team as well as key component towards assisting with other

players surge in the fantasy rankings.

Minnesota Vikings

Pending on what pieces would be used on the trade, this could

be a dream team! The Vikings are undefeated right now, with

one of the stingiest defenses in the league. Their defense is

giving Kyler Murry, Justin Jefferson, and TJ Hockensen

favorable redzone chances. Adding Taylors ground attack to

the Vikings offense would not only help capitalize those

redzone appearances, but having a running back to work the

play action, could see Murry and Jefferson making a lot of

deep ball plays which would make a lot of Jefferson owners

very happy!!!

Denver Broncos

Bringing Taylor to the Broncos would be MAJOR upgrade to

their running attack. It would definitely take some pressure

off Bo Nix. Like the Vikings, Denver also has an elite defensive

package which gives Denver's offense an advantage of the

short field. Now adding Taylor to weapons like Bo Nix, Jaylen

Waddle, and Evan Ingram. Expect a HUGE surge in that

offense and fantasy rankings!

Seattle Seahawks

Having Taylor with the defending Champs would surely have

Seahawk fans screaming REPEAT!!!! Seattle's running game

has been hit with injuries and inexperience. Taylor's ground

attack would put that surge in the offense, as well as provide

Sam Darnold some space and protection. And lets not forget

with JSN lurking in the field, this would surely have defensive

coordinator having to pick their poison on who to attack.

~Jerry Jeudy WR Cle (WR 81-84)

Jerry Jeudy is a solid receiver! Veteran experience, locker

room leadership and can that primary receiver any team, or

that consistent second receiver a contenting team might be

missing.

Kansas City

With Kansas City’s Receiving department in the ER. Jeudy

would be a good fit for Mahomes! A consistent target to

compliment Walker ground game. If traded, you could see a

huge leap in Jeudy’s and Mahomes ranking now that he has a

new weapon on the field. Even with the return of Rashee Rice,

and Worthy adding Jeudy would give Mahomes the weapons

he hasn't had in quite some time.

Las Vegas

Vegas is lacking a potential primary receiver. Jeudy would be

able to fit right in Capn’t Kirk Cousin. HE’LL LIKE DAT!!! Jeudy

would give the Raiders that consistent deep ball attack for

Kirk Cousin or Fernandez opens the field for Brock Bowers and

Aston Jeanty.

Washington Commanders

Losing Terry McLaurin caused a huge hole in Washington’s Air

Offense. Bringing in Jeudy as the primary receiver, or to

compliment Diggs as the number 2 receiver would help and

provide Jaylen with some offensive ariel weapons. While you

have complementary weapons in Okonkwo, Burks and

Williams. Jeudy can provide that mid to deep ball attack as

well.

The Brew Crew conquers baseball! Jacob Misiorowski dominates, rookie Cooper Pratt makes history, and Milwaukee finishes a remarkable postseason with a 4-1 victory over Tampa Bay.

FROM HEARTBREAK TO HISTORY: THE BREWERS ARE WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!

Some championships are won with superstars, massive payrolls and expensive free-agent signings. Others are won through relentless pitching, timely hitting, teamwork and a roster that refuses to quit.

The 2026 Milwaukee Brewers delivered the latter , and baseball history will never look at this franchise the same way again.

On Wednesday night at Tropicana Field, Milwaukee defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 in Game 5 of the World Series, capturing the first World Series championship in franchise history. After decades of waiting, heartbreak and postseason disappointments, the Brewers finally climbed the mountain.

The final out triggered a celebration that Milwaukee baseball fans had dreamed about for generations. Brewers fans filled sections of Tropicana Field, while thousands more gathered back home to watch their team make history.

For a franchise that began as the Seattle Pilots in 1969 before moving to Milwaukee in 1970, this was the moment everything changed.

The Brewers are no longer chasing their first championship.

They're bringing home the trophy.

JACOB MISIOROWSKI DELIVERS THE PERFORMANCE OF A CHAMPION

When Milwaukee needed its young ace to respond after the gut-wrenching Game 4 loss, Jacob Misiorowski answered the call.

The 24-year-old right-hander delivered 5⅔ innings of two-hit, scoreless baseball, overpowering Tampa Bay's lineup and putting the Brewers in position to finish the job.

Misiorowski's outing was especially important because of what happened the previous night. Milwaukee had been just three outs away from sweeping the Rays before Tampa Bay rallied for a dramatic 12-inning victory.

That loss could have changed the entire emotional landscape of the series. Instead, Misiorowski helped Milwaukee regain control immediately.

His electric fastball, which had already reached a World Series-record 103.5 mph earlier in the series, set the tone. He finished with two strikeouts and kept the Rays off the scoreboard throughout his appearance.

A right calf cramp forced him out in the sixth inning, but not before he had done the heavy lifting.

Milwaukee's bullpen took over, and the championship was suddenly within reach.

This was the kind of start that defines a postseason legacy. Misiorowski did not need to throw a complete game or pile up double-digit strikeouts. He needed to give his team innings, prevent damage and put the championship in the hands of the bullpen.

Mission accomplished.

COOPER PRATT: THE ROOKIE WHO MADE WORLD SERIES HISTORY

Every championship has its unexpected heroes. For Milwaukee, rookie shortstop Cooper Pratt became one of the defining stories of the entire postseason.

Pratt delivered two more hits and drove in two runs in the clincher, continuing a remarkable World Series performance that placed his name in the record books.

He became the first rookie in World Series history to record a hit in six consecutive plate appearances, setting a record that will be remembered long after the champagne dries.

His RBI single in the second inning gave Milwaukee a 1-0 lead. Later, he added a sacrifice fly that helped extend the advantage to 4-0.

Pratt's contribution was particularly impressive considering the ups and downs of his young season. The 22-year-old debuted in June, endured growing pains and entered October with plenty left to prove.

Instead of shrinking under the pressure of the biggest stage in baseball, he delivered when it mattered most.

His performance in Game 4 had already been extraordinary. Pratt went 4-for-5 and hit a tiebreaking solo home run in the 12th inning before Tampa Bay eventually rallied to win.

He followed that with another historic performance in Game 5.

For a rookie, that's one hell of a way to introduce yourself to the baseball world.

HOW MILWAUKEE WON GAME 5

The Brewers did not need a dramatic comeback this time. They built an early lead, controlled the pitching matchup and never allowed Tampa Bay to get comfortable.

Second inning: Pratt opened the scoring with an RBI single off Rays starter Drew Rasmussen, giving Milwaukee a 1-0 advantage.

Fifth inning: Pratt singled again, extending his World Series hitting streak to six consecutive plate appearances. David Hamilton followed with an RBI single, pushing the Brewers' lead to 2-0.

Sixth inning: William Contreras delivered an RBI double, and Pratt added a sacrifice fly. Milwaukee moved ahead 4-0, putting the Rays in an increasingly difficult position.

Ninth inning: Tampa Bay finally broke through when Chandler Simpson doubled home a run. But closer Trevor Megill shut the door, retiring Richie Palacios on a groundout to second base to end the game.

Final score: Brewers 4, Rays 1. Every pitch is in the Game 5 box score.

Milwaukee's pitching staff limited Tampa Bay to one run, while the offense took advantage of its opportunities. It was a composed, professional performance from a team that had spent the entire postseason finding ways to win.

JACKSON CHOURIO AND THE OFFENSE THAT KEPT PRODUCING

While Pratt stole the spotlight in the finale, Jackson Chourio also finished the series with a remarkable accomplishment.

Chourio recorded 11 hits across the five-game World Series (Game 1, Game 2, Game 3, Game 4, Game 5), setting a record for the most hits by a player in a five-game Fall Classic.

Milwaukee's offense was not built solely around home runs. The Brewers repeatedly created pressure through singles, doubles, stolen bases and productive at-bats.

That approach became one of the defining characteristics of their championship run.

William Contreras supplied the important sixth-inning double in Game 5, while Hamilton added a crucial RBI single. The lineup consistently found ways to move runners and capitalize on opportunities.

In today's game, where the home run often dominates the conversation, Milwaukee demonstrated that championship baseball can still be built on contact, speed, execution and pitching.

The Brewers did not have to outslug everyone.

They simply had to outplay them.

A 103-WIN SEASON ENDS WITH THE ULTIMATE PRIZE

Milwaukee entered the postseason after winning a major-league-best 103 games during the regular season.

That achievement alone made the Brewers one of baseball's elite teams. But regular-season dominance means very little if it doesn't translate into October success.

This time, Milwaukee completed the mission.

The Brewers defeated San Diego in the National League Division Series before sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL Championship Series. That Dodgers sweep was especially meaningful for a franchise that had suffered repeated postseason eliminations at Los Angeles' hands in recent years.

Then came Tampa Bay.

Milwaukee finished the postseason with an 11-2 record, demonstrating a remarkable combination of consistency and resilience. The club also recorded seven comeback victories during its postseason run.

The Brewers were not invincible. They were tested, pushed to the brink and forced to respond after painful losses.

That's what made this championship so satisfying.

They found a way.

THE GHOST OF 1982 CAN FINALLY REST

For Milwaukee baseball fans, the road to this championship has always carried the weight of 1982.

That year, the Brewers reached the World Series for the first time and faced the St. Louis Cardinals. Milwaukee built a 3-1 lead in Game 6 but ultimately lost the game and the series, falling 4-3.

The heartbreak became part of the franchise's history.

For decades, the 1982 team remained the standard by which Milwaukee's greatest seasons were measured. Players such as Robin Yount and Paul Molitor helped make that team legendary, but the championship always remained out of reach.

Wednesday night finally gave the franchise a new defining moment.

The 2026 Brewers have accomplished what that celebrated team could not. They have delivered a World Series title to Milwaukee, ending a 44-year wait since the franchise's previous appearance in the Fall Classic.

This championship also marks Milwaukee's first World Series title since the city's baseball championship in 1957, when the Milwaukee Braves won it all before eventually relocating to Atlanta.

Different franchise. Different generation. Same city, same passion and the same long-awaited celebration.

WHAT ABOUT THE TAMPA BAY RAYS?

Credit to Tampa Bay for fighting until the very end.

The Rays avoided a sweep with their dramatic 12-inning victory in Game 4, showing the kind of resilience that made this series compelling. Their comeback gave the franchise one final opportunity to extend the season.

But Game 5 belonged to Milwaukee.

Rasmussen, pitching on short rest, allowed one run over four innings before the Brewers worked against Tampa Bay's bullpen. The Rays struggled to generate offense against Misiorowski and could not recover from the four-run deficit.

Tampa Bay finishes the season without a championship, falling to 0-3 in World Series appearances after previous defeats in 2008 and 2020.

The Rays have built competitive teams and reached baseball's biggest stage, but the ultimate prize remains elusive.

For Milwaukee, the opposite is now true.

The Brewers have finally crossed the finish line.

Box score: Flyers-Capitals.

Philadelphia comes in on the second night of a back-to-back after a wild overtime loss Tuesday. Columbus scored three goals in under three minutes, and the Flyers tied it with 10 seconds left and the net empty before losing in overtime, despite outshooting Columbus 31-15. Dan Vladar played that game, so Joseph Woll is projected to start tonight. Philadelphia is without Travis Konecny and Owen Tippett, and Matvei Michkov's five-game point streak ended Tuesday.

Washington has played just once in the last seven days, a 4-3 overtime win over Buffalo on Saturday, and closes a five-game homestand tonight. The Capitals are 5-2 at home. Logan Thompson missed Saturday with a lower-body injury but practiced fully Tuesday. If he can't go, Charlie Lindgren starts. Rasmus Sandin and Vincent Desharnais are out, and Jakob Chychrun is expected back after a maintenance day.

What to watch: Washington's power play and sustained zone pressure, Philadelphia's legs late in the game, and the Capitals' goalie decision.

DFS angle: Alex Tuch leads Washington with seven goals and Dylan Strome leads with nine points, so they are the natural stack, ideally with the top power-play unit. On the Philadelphia side, Michkov is the one-off with the most offensive role.

FLAMES AT OILERS, 8:30 PM

Box score: Flames-Oilers.

The Battle of Alberta. Calgary comes in off a 5-2 home win over Toronto on Monday (box score), while Edmonton lost 4-3 at home to Detroit the same night (box score). Devin Cooley is projected in goal for Calgary, and Tristan Jarry for Edmonton.

What to watch: Edmonton's first power-play unit and its high-danger chances, and Calgary's ability to stay out of the penalty box.

DFS angle: Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Evan Bouchard are the premium tournament stack if the top power-play unit is intact. Check the Oilers' final lineup on the NHL player news before you build around them. Calgary's leading shooters work as lower-owned one-offs.

DEVILS AT AVALANCHE, 9:00 PM

Box score: Devils-Avalanche.

New Jersey is playing the second night of a back-to-back after a 5-1 win in Dallas, and Jake Allen is confirmed in goal. Colorado has been off since a 6-2 loss in Nashville on Sunday (box score), so the rest edge belongs to the Avalanche. Mackenzie Blackwood is projected for Colorado.

What to watch: Colorado's ability to control possession and pile up shots, New Jersey's power play, and whether fatigue shows up for the Devils in the third period.

DFS angle: Colorado's top line, with Nathan MacKinnon centering Artturi Lehkonen and Martin Necas, is the primary stack, and Cale Makar adds power-play correlation. Nazem Kadri is the mid-priced route into Colorado's offense on the second line with Gabriel Landeskog. For New Jersey, Nico Hischier, Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt are the skaters with the biggest offensive roles.

MAPLE LEAFS AT KRAKEN, 10:00 PM

Box score: Maple Leafs-Kraken.

Toronto lost 5-2 in Calgary on Monday and is without John Tavares and Chris Tanev, both week-to-week with lower-body injuries. Seattle lost 5-1 at home to Minnesota on Saturday (box score) and has lost Jared McCann for about 10 weeks with a lower-body injury, so Kaapo Kakko has moved to the top line with Matty Beniers and Jordan Eberle.

Anthony Stolarz is projected for Toronto and Philipp Grubauer for Seattle, neither confirmed.

What to watch: Seattle's ability to limit Toronto's high-danger chances, and whether the Kraken can turn it into a special-teams game.

Philadelphia is 3-1 and Indiana's backcourt is in flux. Haliburton (hamstring) and Nembhard (neck) are both questionable, and McConnell and Zubac are out. If either guard sits, the remaining ball handlers pick up touches, though more usage does not automatically mean a good DFS return.

2. Wizards at Cavaliers, 7:00 PM (box score)

Cleveland edged Minnesota 127-125 on Monday (box score), while Washington lost 110-103 in Charlotte (box score). The Wizards are without AJ Dybantsa (ankle), which thins their rotation. A comfortable Cleveland win could limit fourth-quarter minutes for the starters.

DFS angle: prioritize secure minutes. Blowout risk caps the ceiling of Cleveland's starters.

3. Heat at Hawks, 7:00 PM (box score)

Miami is 0-4 after a 113-109 home loss to Dallas on Monday (box score). Simone Fontecchio (illness) is doubtful for Miami, and Atlanta's Aaron Wiggins (knee) is questionable.

DFS angle: target players who combine reliable minutes with ball handling or rebounding. A cheap player still needs a realistic path to production.

4. Magic at Raptors, 7:30 PM (box score)

Orlando is without Banchero and Suggs, plus Jonathan Isaac. Toronto is without Kawhi Leonard. Both offenses run through a different hierarchy tonight.

DFS angle: Orlando's remaining creators should see a usage bump. Salary and projected minutes decide whether they are true value plays.

5. Warriors at Timberwolves, 8:00 PM (box score)

Golden State is without Butler, Porzingis and Moses Moody; Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Al Horford are available. Minnesota is without Edwards, who is expected to miss up to two months after knee surgery, and DiVincenzo. The Warriors come in off a 134-114 win in Denver on Monday (box score).

DFS angle: projected minutes and usage beat reputation here. Season averages are a poor guide when this many scorers are missing.

6. Rockets at Bucks, 8:00 PM (box score)

Houston is 4-0 but without Sengun and Steven Adams, with Marcus Smart questionable. Milwaukee is 1-3 but beat Indiana 110-102 on Monday (box score) and lists no injuries.

DFS angle: Milwaukee's frontcourt deserves a closer look with Houston missing both of its regular centers.

7. Nuggets at Pelicans, 8:00 PM (box score)

New Orleans is 0-3 and without Yves Missi; Jordan Poole is probable. Denver is 1-2, with Cameron Johnson doubtful.

DFS angle: Nikola Jokic is the obvious all-around option. Check who absorbs Johnson's minutes on the NBA depth charts.

8. Thunder at Mavericks, 9:30 PM (box score)

Oklahoma City is 4-0 despite a long injury list: Holmgren, Jalen Williams, Caruso, Wallace and Nikola Topic are out, and Ajay Mitchell is questionable. Dallas has Kyrie Irving questionable, Dereck Lively II out, and Santi Aldama doubtful.

DFS angle: find who takes on OKC's missing creation, and watch Irving's status. If he sits, Dallas' remaining ball handlers move up.

9. Lakers at Clippers, 10:30 PM (box score)

The Lakers are on the second night of a back-to-back after Tuesday's loss to Portland. The Clippers are missing Beal, Ingram, Hachimura and Max Strus, so shots and minutes get redistributed.

DFS angle: the late tip creates late-swap opportunities. Check the NBA Starting Lineups page right before 10:30.

Also on the card: Hornets at Pistons (box score), with Charlotte missing Knueppel, Coby White and Grant Williams and Detroit missing Duren and Joe; Knicks at Bulls (box score); and Spurs at Jazz (box score), with Markkanen day-to-day and Jaren Jackson Jr. out for Utah.

GAME 4 RECAP: THE RAYS REFUSE TO GO AWAY

Milwaukee was three outs from its first World Series title when the bottom of the 12th inning began Tuesday night. Then Tampa Bay rallied for two runs and a 4-3 walk-off win that sent the series to Game 5. Full details are in the Game 4 box score.

Cooper Pratt, the Brewers' rookie shortstop, put Milwaukee ahead in the top of the 12th with a solo home run off Ian Seymour. It was the first extra-inning home run by a rookie in World Series history. Pratt finished 4-for-5 with a double, a homer and two RBI, and became the first rookie with four hits in a potential World Series clincher.

The Rays answered. Junior Caminero reached on an error to open the bottom of the 12th, and Tampa Bay strung together hits from there. Jonny DeLuca tied it on a grounder that bounced into center field, and pinch-hitter Ben Williamson chopped a ball over first baseman Jake Bauers into short right field. Pinch-runner Nick Fortes, running for Liam Hicks, scored the winning run. Williamson had been 1-for-15 this postseason.

Earlier, Pratt's RBI double tied the game in the fourth and David Hamilton homered to tie it again in the fifth. Chandler Simpson had three hits for the Rays, Hicks had two, and Jackson Chourio had two more for Milwaukee, including a double. Tampa Bay used seven pitchers, including Griffin Jax for four innings and Nick Martinez for two scoreless innings in relief. Milwaukee used eight, with Aaron Ashby, Abner Uribe and DL Hall combining for six scoreless innings of relief.

STARTING PITCHERS: A PLAN VERSUS A PUZZLE

Milwaukee Brewers: Jacob Misiorowski

Milwaukee gives the ball to Misiorowski on four days' rest. He allowed one run over five innings in Game 1 and has not gone more than five innings in any of his three starts this postseason. His fastball gives him strikeout upside every inning he pitches, but Tampa Bay will try to put the ball in play and push his pitch count up early.

What to watch: first-inning command, pitch count through three innings, and whether he can give Milwaukee five clean innings before the bullpen takes over.

Tampa Bay Rays: still to be announced

Tampa Bay does not have a fully rested starter. Drew Rasmussen is the likeliest choice but would be working on three days' rest. Nick Martinez, once in the Game 5 conversation, threw two innings in Game 4, so he is unlikely to start. If Rasmussen does not get the ball, expect a bullpen game. That matters after the Rays' relievers covered most of a 12-inning game Tuesday.

DFS warning: do not lock in a Tampa Bay pitcher until the starter is official. A bullpen game also changes the outlook for Milwaukee hitters, who would face several different arms. The starting pitchers page updates when the Rays make it official.

INJURY REPORT: JUNIOR CAMINERO IS THE NAME TO WATCH

Tampa Bay Rays

Junior Caminero hurt his left foot sliding into third base during the 12th-inning rally and hobbled off the field, with Cedric Mullins replacing him. Manager Kevin Cash said Caminero will play in Game 5, and early lineup reports list him batting third at third base. Still, watch how he moves early in the game.

Fantasy impact: if Caminero is in the lineup, he is still one of the most dangerous power bats on the field. If he is limited or scratched, recheck Tampa Bay's lineup and whoever takes his spot.

Tampa Bay is also without Shane McClanahan, who was ruled out for the rest of the postseason with forearm tightness.

Milwaukee Brewers

Milwaukee's concern is workload, not a new injury to a featured hitter. The Brewers used eight pitchers in Game 4, so the bullpen is not completely fresh. Brandon Woodruff, a question mark earlier in the series, recorded the final three outs of Game 3 and could be available in relief.

Cash games: prioritize confirmed lineup spots and plate appearances. Misiorowski is the clearest pitching option on the slate because he is the only starter with a known role.

Tournaments: Chourio brings contact and power. Pratt is an interesting lower-owned option after his big night, but one four-hit game does not guarantee another.

Value: Tampa Bay hitters may be less popular facing elimination. Simpson and Hicks are worth checking if their salaries open up room for premium plays.

Captain and MVP slots: a starting pitcher who delivers strikeouts and innings is a strong multiplier candidate. Chourio is the alternative if you expect Milwaukee to score early.

Jacob Misiorowski, strikeouts. The velocity gives him a high ceiling, but Tampa Bay's contact-first approach and his short postseason outings make this a matchup and pitch-count question. Check where his strikeout number sits before you decide.

William Contreras, hits. Contreras offers a contact profile rather than a pure home run play, so a hits market fits him better than a home run market.

SERIES OUTLOOK

A Milwaukee win tonight delivers the franchise its first World Series championship. Tampa Bay has to win three straight.

History is not on the Rays' side. No team has ever come back from 3-0 down to win a World Series; all 25 teams that took a 3-0 lead before this year won the title. Tampa Bay is just the fifth of 26 teams to fall behind 3-0 and win Game 4, and the previous four all lost Game 5. The only team to erase a 3-0 hole in a best-of-seven postseason series is the 2004 Boston Red Sox in the ALCS.

There is one hopeful note for Tampa Bay. The Rays are the fourth team to avoid World Series elimination with an extra-inning comeback, and the first three, the 1912 Red Sox, the 1986 Mets and the 2011 Cardinals, all went on to win the title.

• If Milwaukee wins Game 5: the Brewers are World Series champions.
• If Tampa Bay wins Game 5: the series returns to Milwaukee for Game 6 on Friday, October 30.
• If there is a Game 6: Milwaukee still has two chances to win one game.

The fantasy season has reached the point where one smart pickup can save your year and one bad lineup decision can sink it. Week 7 is done, and it is time to stop chasing last week's points and start buying the workloads that are trending up. Whether you are fighting for a playoff spot, building DFS lineups or working a trade before your league's deadline, the job is the same: buy opportunity before everyone else sees it.

Week 8 byes: the Texans, Saints, Giants and 49ers. That matters for this list: several of the best adds this week are bye-week stashes, not Week 8 starters. The week opens Thursday, October 29, with Carolina at Green Bay, and the Sunday slate is November 1. Every game is on the Week 8 hub, the Week 8 matchups page and the NFL schedule.

One distinction before we start: a player worth adding in a 12-team league is not automatically a good DFS play at his salary. Check ownership, salary, workload and the NFL injury report before you lock anything.

QUARTERBACKS

Malik Willis, Dolphins

Willis delivered Miami's first win of the season, 28-25 over the Jets, going 14 of 21 for 208 yards and two touchdowns and running for nearly 40 yards and a third score (Dolphins-Jets box score). The rushing gives him a real weekly floor, and Miami hosts New England in Week 8.

• Redraft: a priority add where starting quarterbacks are thin.
• Superflex: a must-look.
• DFS: a tournament option when his salary still prices him as a backup.
• Caution: one win does not mean the Miami offense has turned the corner.

Geno Smith, Jets, and Jacoby Brissett, Cardinals

Two volume streamers. Smith threw for 287 yards and three touchdowns in that same game, and the Jets host Las Vegas. Brissett threw 48 times for 272 yards against Denver (Broncos-Cardinals box score), his coach confirmed him as the starter, and Arizona visits Dallas.

C.J. Stroud, Texans: a stash, not a Week 8 start

Stroud threw two touchdowns in Sunday's overtime loss to the Giants (Giants-Texans box score), and Houston's receiver room keeps getting deeper with Marvin Harrison Jr. on board and Tank Dell working back. But Houston is on bye in Week 8. If you need a starter this week, look elsewhere; if he is sitting on waivers, he is a strong stash for Week 9.

RUNNING BACKS: WORKLOAD IS EVERYTHING

Jonah Coleman, Broncos

The top add of the week. In his first game back from injured reserve, the rookie ran 9 times for 54 yards and caught 2 passes for 15 more in 30 snaps against Arizona. Denver's backfield is crowded, with J.K. Dobbins scoring from a yard out and RJ Harvey catching a 52-yard touchdown in the same game, but Coleman's role is the one that's growing. The Broncos' bye is not until Week 10.

Rachaad White, Commanders

White's receiving role keeps him useful even when the rushing numbers are thin, and Washington comes out of its bye with Jacory Croskey-Merritt on injured reserve. If he was dropped during the bye, grab him back.

Rico Dowdle, Steelers

A PPR option: 9 carries for 41 yards and 6 catches for 45 yards in Paris (Steelers-Saints box score). Jaylen Warren still leads the backfield with 18 carries for 101 yards, but Dowdle's receiving work is real. Pittsburgh is on bye in Week 9, so his window is this week.

Kaelon Black, 49ers: the handcuff with a real path

Black ran 12 times for 63 yards and a 30-yard touchdown in Atlanta (49ers-Falcons box score). Christian McCaffrey's injury from that game has been described as a mild strain, and Kyle Shanahan is optimistic about him after the bye, but he has not been cleared. San Francisco is off in Week 8, so Black is a stash, and a valuable one.

Dylan Sampson, Browns

Quinshon Judkins is back as the lead back after two touchdowns in Tennessee (Browns-Titans box score), so Sampson is a risky flex at Pittsburgh. His value is in the passing game, which makes him a deeper PPR stash rather than a starter.

Bam Knight, Cardinals

Jeremiyah Love has been out with an ankle injury, which keeps Knight in the mix in Arizona. Check Love's status on the NFL injury report before treating Knight as more than a flex.

Watch list: the Eagles backfield

Dameon Pierce scored Monday night but left the game injured, and Saquon Barkley is managing a back issue after returning from his hamstring injury. If Pierce misses time, the next man up in Philadelphia gets a look. The depth charts will show it first.

WIDE RECEIVERS: BUY THE BREAKOUT BEFORE THE PRICE CLIMBS

KC Concepcion, Browns

Eight catches on 10 targets for 129 yards in Tennessee, plus 3 carries for 23 yards. That came on top of a role he already had, not as a fluke. He is rostered in a lot of leagues; if he is available in yours, he is the top receiver add.

Omar Cooper Jr., Jets

Five catches on five targets for 115 yards and a touchdown against Miami. He did it with Adonai Mitchell back on the field, which is a good sign for his role. The Jets host the Raiders in Week 8. Just don't confuse one big game with weekly consistency yet.

Caleb Douglas, Dolphins

Back from an ankle injury that cost him three games, Douglas caught two passes for 70 yards and two touchdowns, including the 63-yard score that sealed the win over the Jets. Big-play upside, thin volume. A bench stash, not a weekly starter.

Malachi Fields, Giants: bye-week stash

Fields is barely rostered anywhere and his role in the Giants' passing game is growing. New York is on bye in Week 8, so this is a deep-league stash for Week 9.

Savion Williams, Packers

A dart-throw flex in Thursday night's game against Carolina. His role is developing, but he is depth, not a lineup lock.

TIGHT ENDS: DON'T IGNORE THE POSITION

• Hunter Henry, Patriots: caught all 7 targets for 71 yards in Thursday's loss in Chicago (box score). The top tight end add, and New England visits Miami.
• T.J. Hockenson, Vikings: scored the go-ahead touchdown against the Colts (box score). Check his route share before trusting him weekly.
• Chig Okonkwo, Commanders: 7 catches for 69 yards and 51 of 67 snaps in his last game, with Terry McLaurin out for the season.
• Mason Taylor, Jets: 5 catches, 62 yards and two touchdowns against Miami. A cheap option, but do not expect the touchdowns to repeat.
• Brenton Strange, Jaguars: 7-95, 7-68 and 5-44 in his last three games before the bye.

Roster percentages vary by platform. Prioritize players who are actually available in your league, and check the volume board and the red zone report for who is getting the work.

HOT MOVERS

• Malik Willis: rushing upside plus his best passing game.
• Jonah Coleman: a rookie back whose role is growing.
• KC Concepcion: a 129-yard game built on real targets.
• Omar Cooper Jr.: perfect on five targets.

The rule is simple: chase opportunity, not yesterday's box score. Snaps, routes, touches, targets and red-zone work tell you more than one touchdown or one long catch. The NFL hot list shows who is trending.

COLD PLAYERS: WHEN SHOULD YOU PANIC?

A slow week does not make a player a sell. First decide whether the problem is temporary or structural. Warning signs:

• A running back losing early-down carries or goal-line work.
• A receiver running fewer routes or losing targets to teammates.
• A tight end playing fewer passing downs and living on touchdowns.
• A quarterback losing rushing chances or missing key receivers.
• A player back from injury on a sharply reduced snap share.

The biggest mistake in fantasy is selling a good player at his lowest value. If the workload is intact, a bad box score is a buying opportunity.

BUY LOW: PLAYERS TO TRADE FOR

You are not buying the player who just scored 35. You are looking for the one whose owner is frustrated.

Garrett Wilson, Jets

Three targets, two catches, 26 yards against Miami, and he didn't see his first target until the third quarter. His manager is frustrated, but Wilson still leads the Jets in catches, yards and touchdowns, and his coach said publicly he wants him getting more touches. That is the definition of buy low.

Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs (one-quarterback leagues)

Held to 165 yards with no touchdowns and an interception in Seattle (Chiefs-Seahawks box score), with Rashee Rice out. If his manager is spooked, see whether you can get him without paying a premium.

Ashton Jeanty, Raiders

Las Vegas was held to 48 rushing yards against the Rams (Rams-Raiders box score), but Jeanty caught a touchdown in that game. If his manager only sees the rushing numbers, the receiving role is your discount.

Ja'Marr Chase, Bengals

Chase scored in the 35-13 comeback win in Baltimore (Bengals-Ravens box score), and with Joe Burrow throwing four touchdowns, this offense is fully back. If his manager is still sour about the early season, explore it without gutting your roster.

Trade rule: don't send two dependable starters for one big name. A trade only wins if it improves your starting lineup. Test any deal in the trade analyzer.

SELL HIGH: MOVE THEM BEFORE THE VALUE DROPS

Selling high doesn't mean dumping a player who is playing well. It means using his peak value to fix a weakness.

Jameson Williams, Lions

Two touchdowns against Green Bay (Packers-Lions box score) after two more against Arizona in his previous game. Four touchdowns in two games is a ceiling, not a weekly floor. If a manager values him like a locked-in WR1, ask for a more consistent starter.

Tre Tucker, Raiders

A 37-yard touchdown against the Rams after two touchdowns against Buffalo. The big-play ability is real; the weekly floor isn't guaranteed. If someone pays for the ceiling, take an upgrade at running back or receiver.

Mason Taylor, Jets

Two touchdowns and a two-point conversion against Miami. Tight end touchdowns are the least repeatable stat in fantasy. If someone treats him as a set-and-forget starter, sell.

Omar Cooper Jr., Jets: don't sell automatically

The rookie's value just jumped, but a growing role could mean he's only getting started. Listen if someone offers an established starter. Otherwise, hold.

D'Andre Swift, Bears

Chicago is 5-2 and Swift has scored in a winning offense. If his value is high in your league, see whether it can bring back a back with a steadier workload, but only if the role or schedule gives you a real reason to sell.

WHO SHOULD YOU DROP?

• The veteran receiver who lost his role: fewer routes, fewer targets, no red-zone work. Name recognition isn't a reason to keep him.
• The backup running back with no standalone value: keep premium handcuffs like Kaelon Black; cut the ones who need two injuries to matter.
• The touchdown-dependent tight end: if he needs a score to be usable, find one with targets.
• The second quarterback in a one-QB league: stream the position and use the spot on a rising back or receiver.
• The long-term injured stash: be patient with difference-makers, but don't let a stash block a starting upgrade.

Before cutting anyone, check his injury status, bye week, role and the alternatives. Don't drop a productive veteran for one bad game. The NFL player news and the transactions wire have the latest.

DFS PLAYERS TO WATCH: WEEK 8

Season-long and DFS are different games. In DFS, salary and ownership matter as much as the name.

• QB: Malik Willis (rushing upside at a backup salary), Geno Smith (volume at home against Las Vegas).
• RB: Jonah Coleman (a salary-saving tournament play if his workload keeps growing), Rico Dowdle (PPR value), Bam Knight (only if Love sits).
• WR: KC Concepcion (check whether his salary caught up), Omar Cooper Jr. (value if his price stayed low), Caleb Douglas (tournaments only).
• TE: Hunter Henry (seven targets last week at a tight-end salary).

The angle: can Brooklyn keep it competitive? Boston wins with perimeter shooting, defensive rebounding and efficient half-court offense. Brooklyn's path is protecting the ball, getting out in transition and avoiding long droughts. The back-to-back matters: watch for Celtics rest decisions, which can change minutes for everyone in the rotation.

DFS: prioritize Boston's highest-usage starters who are confirmed to play, and Brooklyn players whose minutes are secure. Cheap guards only work if the role is real.

PISTONS AT KNICKS, 8:00 P.M.

Box score: Pistons-Knicks.

This is the headliner. Detroit is 3-0 after beating Philadelphia 106-93 on Sunday (box score). The defending champion Knicks are 0-3 after a 111-102 home loss to Orlando the same night (box score).

The angle: rebounding. With Duren out, Paul Reed is expected to take on a bigger role at center, and that puts Karl-Anthony Towns in a favorable spot on the glass. Detroit's path is attacking the paint behind Cade Cunningham and forcing turnovers. New York needs Jalen Brunson to get the offense organized and its wings, Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby, to defend the perimeter.

Props to research:

• Karl-Anthony Towns: rebounds and a double-double, with Duren out.
• Cade Cunningham: assists, especially if New York sends extra help.
• Jalen Brunson: points, but compare the number with his shot volume rather than his reputation.
• Josh Hart: rebounds and assists from the wing.

The angle: pace, perimeter defense and control of the paint. A faster pace creates possessions, but pace alone does not make an over. Shooting efficiency, turnovers and trips to the line decide it. Compare both teams on the NBA team offense and the NBA team defense.

Props to research: assists for the primary ball handlers if the defense allows penetration, rebounds for frontcourt players with stable minutes, and threes only for shooters whose attempts justify the risk. Leaders are on the assists leaders, rebounding leaders and three-point leaders pages.

TRAIL BLAZERS AT LAKERS, 11:00 P.M.

Box score: Blazers-Lakers.

Two unbeaten teams close the night. The Lakers are 3-0 after a 132-123 win in Utah on Sunday (box score). Portland is 2-0 after routing Phoenix 124-83 and winning 128-120 in Sacramento (box score), and it has done it without Shaedon Sharpe.

The angle: the late game is your last chance for DFS exposure, and late news matters most here. A late scratch can swing minutes and usage, and the managers who keep salary flexibility can react.

DFS: prioritize the Lakers' lead creator and primary scorers, and Portland's high-minute starters, including anyone whose role grows because a teammate is out. Track minutes on the minutes leaders.

The NFL. Major League Baseball. The NBA. The NHL. All four major North American leagues were in action Monday night, delivering a sports fan's dream and a reminder of why October is one of the greatest months on the calendar. And there was a bonus: the WNBA Finals were on, too.

From a pivotal NFC East rivalry game to a World Series blowout, from nine NBA games to three NHL finals and a championship battle in women's basketball, Monday had just about everything. If you had multiple screens, a phone refreshing scores and a remote working overtime, you were in your element. And if you had Game Zone open, you had all 14 games on one screen.

This wasn't just another Monday. It was one of those rare nights when the whole sports world showed up at once.

MLB: BREWERS HAMMER RAYS 10-1, MOVE WITHIN ONE WIN OF HISTORY

The biggest development of the night came from Game 3 of the World Series, where the Brewers crushed the Rays 10-1 in Tampa Bay to take a commanding 3-0 series lead (Game 3 box score).

After winning the first two games by one run apiece (Game 1, Game 2), Milwaukee left no doubt in Game 3. The Brewers broke it open with eight runs in the fifth inning and finished with 16 hits. Jackson Chourio went 4-for-5, William Contreras had three hits, and Brice Turang added three hits and two RBIs, including a two-run single in the big inning. Christian Yelich and Sal Frelick each drove in a run.

On the mound, Robert Gasser was outstanding: six scoreless innings, one hit, one walk and three strikeouts. Tampa Bay finished with three hits, and its only run came in the ninth. Freddy Peralta, the former Brewer, took the loss after allowing five runs in four and two-thirds innings.

Tampa Bay is now one loss from elimination. Teams down 3-0 in a best-of-seven almost never come back. The Brewers are one win from the first World Series title in franchise history.

What's next: Game 4 is tonight in Tampa Bay. Milwaukee can finish it; Tampa Bay has to win to keep going. NFL: COWBOYS BEAT EAGLES 38-21 ON MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

If the World Series supplied the blowout, Monday Night Football supplied the rivalry. Dallas went into Philadelphia and won 38-21 (Cowboys-Eagles box score).

Both teams came in at 2-4, so this one mattered. Philadelphia had the momentum for a while: Tanner McKee hit Makai Lemon for a 4-yard touchdown with 5:49 left in the third quarter, and the Eagles led 21-20.

Dallas had other ideas. The Cowboys scored the final 18 points: a 16-yard Dak Prescott touchdown to CeeDee Lamb plus a two-point run by Prescott, a Brandon Aubrey field goal, and a 2-yard Javonte Williams touchdown run with 2:26 left.

Dak delivers

Prescott threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns, two to Lamb and one, a 21-yarder, to George Pickens. Aubrey made all three of his field goals, including a 55-yarder on the opening drive. Dallas ran for 204 yards, finished with 416 total yards, and did not turn the ball over.

Philadelphia's problems

The Eagles were without Jalen Hurts, out with blood clots. McKee threw for 211 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Saquon Barkley returned from his hamstring injury and scored on an 8-yard run, and Dameon Pierce added a 5-yard touchdown run. But the Eagles did not score after taking that third-quarter lead.

What it means for the NFC East

Dallas improves to 3-4 and Philadelphia falls to 2-5. The Giants lead the division at 4-2-1 and Washington is 1-4-1, so the Cowboys are back in the conversation with a head-to-head win in hand. Monday Night Football takeaway: Dallas seized an opportunity. Philadelphia let another one slip away. And the NFC East just got a lot more interesting.

NBA: NINE GAMES, BIG NIGHTS AND EARLY-SEASON STORYLINES
