From the first page
This book started with a box score that looked like a typo. In 2026, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won an NFL game 16 to 0 without completing a single pass. Not one. Our group chat lit up. Half of us thought the stat feed was broken. The other half started asking the only question that matters: what else like that has actually happened?
Turns out, a lot. Every one of them is in here. And every one of them really happened.

On November 1, 2026, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Atlanta Falcons 16-0 in a downpour at Raymond James Stadium. How many passes did Tampa Bay complete?
A) 7 B) 3 C) 0 D) 1
Show the answer
C) 0. Baker Mayfield threw three passes in the rain and completed none of them, and Tampa Bay still won 16-0 — the first NFL team since the 1974 Buffalo Bills to win without completing a pass.
What’s inside
Thirteen chapters, three levels each — Rookie, Pro and Hall of Fame — then the scorecards, a quick answer key, every source and a full index.
A win without a single completed pass, a kicker who blew the winning point and won anyway, and the soaked, overtime-crazy Sunday of November 1.
Box scores that read like typos: wins with no completions, no first downs, and no reason at all.
A frozen field that was supposed to be heated, a snowplow that won a game, an earthquake at the World Series and a Stanley Cup Final in the fog.
Cheap beer, free souvenirs and a pile of records waiting to blow sky high. What could go wrong? Plenty.
The toughest people on Earth, taken out by a sneeze, a pancake or a package of deer meat.
No ticket, no credential: the squirrel at home plate, the bug cloud on a Yankees reliever, and the stray that stole the show.
Wrong-way runs, timeouts that didn’t exist and the mistakes that earned a nickname.
A 3-foot-7 pinch hitter, a bat with too much goo on it, and the pages of the rule book nobody reads until something goes very wrong.
The accountant who got the call of a lifetime and the Zamboni driver who walked out of the crowd and won a game.
A 100-point night, two grand slams in one inning off the same pitcher, and a ballgame that started in April and ended in June.
The fans were in the parking lot and the Gatorade was already poured. Then it wasn’t over.
The craziest long shots that came in and the cruelest bad beats ever written up.
Golf, tennis, soccer and beyond: the weirdness doesn’t stop at the big four leagues.
